You mentioned in your question that you had a router. If it is actually a modem, then yes, you need a router.
The reason that the Ethernet hub is not working is that your modem will only give out 1 IP address to one device on the hub. With a router, the router uses the 1 IP address and shares access to the internet via that 1 IP address.
Yes, you'll need a router instead of a hub.
One of the PCs might have a static IP address. Go into the TCP/IP properties for both PCs and make sure they are set to dynamically obtain IP addresses. Then reboot the PCs and the hub, and you should be okay.
Are there any other devices on your network? They might be the ones with the conflicting IP addresses. Any iPods, TVs, or Wii's?
When you put the IP address in you also have to add your DNS settings.
easiest way to find your DNS server address is to use an XP based
machine and type "ipconfig /all" it will list all of the properties of
your computers network card. thake those DNS address' and plug them
into your PS3.

Select "Troubleshooting/Connection" errors page. On the LEFT, select "Network Help". That should put you in the area you need.
there might be a problem with the Linksys router, the Westell 6100 should be 1st set to bridge mode in order for your router to be connected to it. or there could also be a proble on the Verizon server.
Try to assign an IP address to the second computer like 192.168.0.101 Subnet 255.255.255.0 and Default gateway 192.168.0.1
Note: This one is an example of IP address, the IP address that you need to assign is in range to the router that you have or with in range to the modem.
When the TCP/IP is set to dynamic or "Obtain Automatically", the default gateway is supposed to blank. The default gateway address of your network is actually the router's IP address.
What is the IP address that you get when you performed step 3?
Go to Control Panel on your computer. Then Click on Network Connections. Look for Local Area connection. RIght click on it and click properties.
Look for Internet protocol TCP/IP. Select it and click Properties. Make sure that Obtain IP address automatically and Obtain DNS servers automatically.
Then, check the IP address of your computer by doing a right click on Local area connection again, but this time click on Status then click support. The IP address that your computer should have is in the range of 192.168.1.x
You may also check if the Ethernet light on your router is on for your computer's connection.
