Hi,

Please try to reset it using a paperclip to insert it into the hole just below the on/off switch.

The player should come off from the recovery mode.
Next try to download the lastest firmware by the creative "MP3 Player Recovery Tool" ,
Next try to "clean up, format all, reboot".

If all the above options fail then i am afraid its a goner if after trying out all the options you still cannot get out of the recovery mode. its a hardware problem.

Thanks for contacting Fixya

I cannot get passed the Windows Error Recovery screen. If I select Launch Startup Repair nothing happens. If I select Start Windows Normally it goes to starting windows screen momentarily and returns to...

First try starting your computer in safe mode. Power down, then hit power button and tapping F8 will get you to this option window. You can also choose safe mode with networking. While in this mode check for any new updates. If you installed new software or hardware uninstall these. Try restarting computer. If this doesn't work and you have a recovery disk put it in while computer is on and then restart.

My machine is not allowing me to update my firmware. My Zen Vision M is stuck in "Recovery Mode" and I can't upgrade it.

I had this same issue. My PC recognized the device, the firmware however did not. I found that by using the cleanup option on the "Recovery Mode" screen and plugging the cable in during the cleanup, the firmware software would recognize the device when it finished. If my zen was plugged in at the start of the cleanup it would just keep telling me to plug my zen in. Once i got through the firmware update i was able to boot into the menu system.

Freezing on the zen screen

Hello,

This sounds like it might be a hard drive problem. Have you tried to put it into Recovery Mode so you can troubleshoot it? Put a paperclip in the Reset hole while holding the power button in the On position. Then release the paperclip and continue to hold the power button until it goes to the Recovery Mode screen. You should at this point try Format and Scan Disk/Cleanup, then Reboot. If it still gets stuck at the same spot, then its going to be a hardware failure.

Hi, I just bought a laptop brand new 4 days ago, it is a Hp Compaq Presario V3000 a couple days in, I believe a virus went on it, and now whenever I On my Laptop it comes up with the screen Choose start...

Restore the PC to original condition with the HP Recovery Manager Follow the steps below to use HP Recovery Manager to return your notebook to its baseline factory condition, then allow the PC to run all the setup programs.
  1. Press the power button to turn on the PC, and press F11 on the keyboard immediately while the computer is starting up. The HP Backup and Recovery Manager window will appear.
  2. Click Advanced options , select the System recovery option, and then click Next .
  3. If the Recovery Manager can access the hard drive it displays a prompt to backup up user files before continuing the recovery. You may either backup your files, or skip the backup and recover the operating system.
  4. If the Recovery Manager cannot access the hard drive to fix the system errors, use the set of Recovery disks that you created to recover the hard drive to its original condition.
After the hard drive is returned to its original condition, restart the PC and allow the PC to run all the setup programs. if thias does not work then you should return it to supplier

Problems with turning on

Sounds like it may be the index in your Music Library. Try going into Recovery Mode the routine way; remove battery(are they charged and good?), hold power switch to ON, replace battery, release power switch when the Recovery Mode screen appears on the screen. Run Option 1 CleanUP, after it completes run Option 4 Restart/Reboot. You will get a Rebuilding Library screen when it reboots, that's normal, then it should go back to your startup screen. Good luck and let us know what happened
