SOURCE: Remote does not open garage door

It sounds like the wall button has the lock feature engauged.

Is there a small green LED flashing inside the wall button?
Push and hold the lock button for about two seconds and the LED should stop flashing. This will unlock the garage door opener and your remotes should start working. You may have to reprogram your remotes and homelink again since you triedprograming in the lock mode.

Good luck.

This web address came from the Chamberlain site. I also needed to relearn my remotes due to a newer car that has a built in garage door opener that needed to be set. I also needed to reset my keypad remote, those instructions I was able to get from the same site. Good Luck

SOURCE: Locked out & Remote not working

There should be a green button on the back of the motor unit, press it for 2 seconds and then hold down your remote button until the light flashs. or for 3-5 seconds and then activate the remote. that might solve your problem

SOURCE: my chamberlaain security + garage door openers

well your main PC board inside of the opener head could have lost the frequency, or the unit memory has been erased, try to reprogram the remotes by going to the back of the opener head and locating the "learn" button which is either red, green, or purple in color. press the learn button then ONE button on ONE remote, pressing multiple buttons or pressing both remote buttons at the same time will not allow them to be programed successfully. after programing test by pushing the same button you just programmed, repeat for other remotes, and if this process did not work than you will need to contact chamberlain

I have a neighbor that can open my garage door with their remote. Can I change my code to open the garage door

Yes.
How to do it depends on make and model.
Get that information from the Garage door opener (this should be on a sticker on the outside of the unit; most likely on top so you'll need a ladder) and you can go on line to the manufacturer site and find the information on resetting the codes.
You will reset it on the Opener first; then you have to "retrain" your remotes and keypad to work with that new code. If this unit has been in place for a few years, it's a good time to replace your remote batteries also.

How do I check a wireless garage door keypad, to see if it is transmitting?

These remotes don't loose the programming code when a battery goes dead, most likely the remote or the board on the opener went bad, do any other remotes work? You can take the remote to an auto parts store and test it there. (They have a tester for key fobs)

Garage door opened by neighbor

Have you seen the neighbor open your door? The reason I ask is because it is almost impossible. The most common cause of a door opening by itself is a bad wall control or the wiring leading to it. You can temporarily eliminate both possibilities by removing the wire from terminal 1 at the rear of the motor unit. Do this and ask your neighbor to bring over his remote and try it on your opener.

Need to change the freqency on a lift master garage door

Chance are they set there remote when you were using yours. To reset your opener you need to clear all the codes on the back of your opener itself there is a square button purple or red depends on how old it is. Press and hold that button until the LCD light turns off. Press your remote to make sure it has stopped working. Then press the button again only for a sec until the light comes on and starts to flash then press your remote button. Repeat for each remote.
