By default your internal optic drive should be the first boot device so you should be able to put the first cd in and reboot the laptop and have it go into the factory restore on its own. If not then go ahead and press f2 when you turn on your laptop and go into the BIOS and in the boot options make sure the optic drive is the first boot device.

It should be two discs that you use to restore the unit. It will ask you for the 2nd disc as the restore goes along.

After you put in the 2nd disc and go thru that, it will ask you to take it out and then you'll click on Okay and the process will continue until it restores the rest of the way.

Navigation problem in LX 470

Hi... Had this issue in the past with my 2004 RX. Someone gave me this tip but I don't know how it will look in your car: What I did is the following: Took off the DVD Unit (mine was in the rare trunk) unsrew the screws. There is ribon kind of thing that you need to disconnect ( i guess I had to unscrew some other drivers as well inside the unit.. cant recall). Anyway, after disconnecting that ribon, reconnect it and put everything back and it should work fine.

I fixed the no disk detected error by pulling the unit, and taking it apart and replacing the drive motor in my dads 2003 RX suv... some light soldering required. Nav unit is surely the same... and I have replacement motors could do this for you much cheaper than a dealer... email if you want
