Question about Technics SA-EX500 Receiver
We are an orthodontic office; we are connected to Muzak with two separate bands - one for the front of the office and one in the back. No sound is coming from the Technix Receiver, just the yellow flashing reset/help button. We have unplugged everything, it still flashes and no sound. We also have a cd player connected to the receiver, the cd's are playing but no sound
A 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

SOURCE: MP3 connection to receiver
absolutely! any audio device using wires can. connect the RCA plugs into the back of the Technics "LINE IN" jacks...the MP3 end may be a 1/8" mini stereo plug (widely available complete cord)

I would guess that the switching chip is faulty inside the receiver. Since the CD works OK, the amplifier section and pre-amp section are good. What you are hearing with the others is crosstalk. This chip shouldn't be more than about $10-$15. Add in the local labor rate for the total repair cost. I think that the chip for your model is a TC9163.

Disconnect receiver from power and open the unit. Localize fuse that is placed on small PCB between main transformer "big one" and rear panel.Fuse's amperage is 1.6 A .I'm quite confident that fuse is gone.If so, replace it with the one of same amperage and try unit.
My unit has done exactly the same to me with no reason.

I went to the HDTV plasma manual. It stated the only way the digital optical audio output would work (from this TV) was to go to the menu, select audio and turn off the TV speakers. Basically, it had nothing to do with the technics receiver.
