The problem could be the linkage that opens the laser safety shudder. It is very flimsy and moves from the door, through the cartridge flap mechanism to open the shudder. if the door or cart. is slightly adjar, it might not open far enough to let the laser past. The only adjustable (bendable) peice is a metal tab on the shudder itself. Access it by removing the front control panel and bend the tab so the shudder opens farther when the door is shut. Make sure it still closed when the door is open. Good luck getting the front panel off....lots of tricky snaps.

Take the toner cart out and reset/put it back in when it does that. Don't know what the problem is and our office has a dozen of these duds.

All new ink cartiridges and pages come out blank now

please follow these steps:

1. reseat all of the ink cartridges
2. perform a cleaning cycle using your computers maintenance options

if you are using windows go to the control panel then look for the printers and faxes folder, right click on the icon of your specified printer then left click go to printing preferences.

on printing preferences click on the tab for maintenance then look for head cleaning. do it for 3 to 5 times then test by printing nozzle check

if it does not work the possiblity is that the nozzles might have been clogged with dried inks. try spraying it with wd40 then let it dry for 3 to 4 hrs then print.

take note that doing the head cleaning you can take a considerable amount of your inks

Blank trace appears on printed copy

replace the toner cartridge, this is a case of low toner.

NOTE: you should never clean the drum on the toner cartridge it is sensitive to light and touch.

PRINTING BLANK SHEETS

You need to put the test page that was printed into the scanner part of the printer and then press the scan/blue button. This is so the printer can calibrate the new ink. When you have done that the next time you turn on the printer a blank page will not be printed. When you next change ink you will have to repeat the above procedure.
