RAZR V3XX - sends my texts as MMS, rather than... (by 10 users)

I LOVE my V3XX, but about 2 weeks ago it started sending ALL my SMS (text) messages as MMS (multimedia) messages. I will start composing a text message in SMS, but it sends it as MMS!

My friends with "weaker" phones are freaking out, and I can't figure out what happened, or how to get it to switch back!

I had this same problem and called Motorola for support. The solution is to clear text/mms message inbox and outbox. The default setting on my phone was to never clear the inbox but I changed that to remove messages when they are 10 days old, I have not experienced the problem since.

Cleaned out the inbox - 450 messages - now it's all fixed.

This sight works better than tylenol! I had a headache for the past two weeks because the standard txt msgs were being sent as multimedia. But yeah, all it took was some clean-up of the message inbox and voila...no more headaches! Everything is back to normal.

My razor does the same thing, on the att website it says that this will occur when your outbox becomes too full and suggests to cleanup your messages.  When I did this it seemed to resolve the issue.

I'm having the same issue, and I cleared both my inbox and outbox but my phone is still sending out my sms messages as mms.

I had the same problem too! I tried finding a solution in the user's manual and there wasn't one, so i started looking online, where i found this thread. I tried it and it worked! Thanks!

I've been struggling with this problem for months, I'm so glad that I'm not the only one. Who would've thought such a simple thing would cause so much headache. Clearing the inbox and outbox really does fixes the problem.

I had the same problem, text messages would be sent as MMS instead of SMS when nothing was changed. I tried the suggested solution and it has corrected the problem. Thanks!
