Basic E3 reads motor not running properly, could mean overcurrent, undercurrent, bad motor, bad tach, bad motor control board, loose wires.Usually with these machines and all their issues its a bad control board. If you are into this kind of problem do some research eliminate all the basic stuff before spending a lot of $$ on something major.I have determined on my machine (MAH9700) that it is indeed a control board.New here in Canada they are $300 just for the part. I found one on ebay used for considerably less (located in USA).

A 3E error is an overcurrent detection at the motor. Some people say that unplugging and re-plugging the connector at the motor clears up the problem.

03 Error on Maytag Neptune front load washer

Hello & Welcome to FixYa

E3 is a locked hall sensor fault and is displayed when the machine control is attempting to drive the motor but is not seeing any tach response and the motor won't move. You can check for any loose wire connections before replacing the motor control board/motor. Please get back to me if you have any other questions.

Maytag laundry neptune front loader washer MAH6700AWW. It is showing a E3 code error. what can we do for that

Hi, the E3 error means that the control board is detecting current going to the motor, but the motor won't turn properly. If the error code comes up all the time as soon as you press the power on button, then it means your control board is bad and reading incorrectly. If it only happens during a cycle, then you need a new motor unfortunately.

E3 and be error on maytag washer

E3 error code is indicating that the motor should be running but the hall sensor for the motor is not sensing the turning of the motor.

If the error code comes up all the time as soon as you press the power on button, then it means your control board is bad and reading incorrectly. If it only happens during a cycle, then you need a new motor unfortunately.

Note - You could disconnect the power supply for few minutes, say 15 minutes and see if that resets the control board and solve the problem unless follow what was mentioned above.

For replacement instructions you can download this repair manual for your front load and follow the steps given in the manual and here the search parts.

Hope helps.

Got the E3 code, replaced the board. The new board won' even fire up. Thoughts?

Turn the machine off and then on. Enter the Service Mode by pressing the Chime and Exrta Rinse keys for 3 sec. Display the Diagnostic Codes by pressing the Rinse and Spin key. Clear the codes by pressing the Delay and Chime keys for 3 sec. Turn the machine off, unplug and plug in the power cord. This dumps the memory. Evidently, if it gets full, it causes problems with the programming and messes up the cycles.

Getting error E3

3E == overcurrent detected at the motor.

Open the control panel, there you will find a tech sheet that explains how to put the machine into service mode and what to do while in service mode to track this down. Once on service mode, you can cycle through and retrieve all diagnostic codes. You will also find serveral other diagnostic service notes. Read them and follow the instructions to test the motor, motor control, and main control board. Hope this helps.

Maytage Neptune E3 code - Model MAH8700AWW - machine won't finish cycle

“E3” code – Machine control is attempting to drive the motor but is not seeing any tach response. Visual Check shows motor is not moving. (Locked or Hall Sensor fault.)
Possible causes of ‘E3’ codes: 1. Spin drum stuck – Verify that the spinner moves freely to eliminate this cause. 2. Hall Sensor fails or is loose – When the Hall Sensor fails or becomes dislodged, the control doesn't recognize that the motor is spinning and shuts down. The result will likely be an “E3” code in the worst case, or “SUdS” if it is only getting a partial rpm reading. Check wire harness connector(s) to motor.
Hall Sensor – PCB that is located on the back of the motor that senses motor rpm. It is not a separate part, but rather an integral part of the motor.
