Question about Whirlpool Freezers

Whirlpool freezer not freezing

Hope you can advise - have a problem with our built in freezer AFB821/B. Sensors started to sound, which in the past has indicated that the door is open or that it may need defrosting. Defrosted the freezer but although everything seems to be functioning o.k. - the freezer will not freeze. The fan is working, the sensors are working and all the buttons illuminate as expected. Any ideas?

By elimination - discovered that it was the compressor and decided to get someone in to kill or

Whirlpool freezer wvg301 not freezing

I have a whirlpool WVG301 freezer and have just had a similar problem with my freezer not freezing and all my food spoiling. Open the plastic cover at the top front above the door. In side is a timer which controls the automatic defrost mechanism. On top of this timer is an adjuster. This timer seemed to get jammed. Give it a slight turn with a screw driver and your compressor might just kick in and work again like mine did!!! Hope this helps?whirlpool-freezer-wvg301-not-freezing-wkabq5ktcyu2l2r5umicsblr-5-2.jpg

Freezer is around 3 years old. When set at -17 degrees the freezer clicks very noisely, a relay operating I think. When the fast freeze button is pressed this clicking stops but the display reads -27...

In my opinion, since your going for the fast freeze mode, your freezer sets to its lowest operating temperature to fast tract the freezing process.

and about the noisy clicking sound it is probably a thermostat or relays depending on your system which starts and stop the compressor.

i think your freezer is just doing fine.

Upright freezer makes a loud rattling sound, like something is loose. Doesn't do it all the time, but does several times a day.

have a look behing your drws in the freezer it has probably started to freeze and the fan that blows the cold air around will have an ice build up. The noise you hear is the fan bashing against the ice. The fan is normally situated behind the panel in the freezer section.

Hope this helps

WHIRLPOOL UNDER WORKTOP FREEZER APPROX 11 YEARS OLD BEEPING

the temperature control is bad. when you push the fast freeze it bypasses the thermostat for 12-24 hours depending on which model you have. I am not able to find any parts information with the model number provided but you should be able to find a temperature control at any local appliance parts house or online thru any reputable supplier. Whirlpool FRS Side by Side Fridge Freezer

Hi Simon I saw that problem because you have a hole in the bottom of the freezer connecting directly on the wall of the fridge you need to block it ... because the air flow directly from the freezer 2 the fridge . Hope it was helpful.

FREEZER

If there is no cooling on the evaporator or only partial cooling then you probably have a gas leak, or the compressor is not pumping correctly. Either way you would need a professional diagnosis. Either way not a good scenario. Hope this helps.
