Question about Televison & Video

I had the bulb blow out in my Sony 60" projection TV. I replaced the bulb and with in 2 weeks I had the on screen notice appear that the bulb was failing. I returned that bulb for another one but the on screen notice is still there. Can this be reset or do I have a 2nd bad bulb?

    The model of my Sony TV is KDS 60A2000. I went into the menu screen and the only selection I saw that might work was resetting to factory defaults, that didn't work. Any suggestions at all would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi, some sony models need to be re-set, usually in the "menu section", you need to post your model number or we can`t look up the procedure for you, please re-post , video-tek

Have you reseted the lamp timer of your tv? if not, you should do it, because it's just adding more and more hours to it to the ones it already had and it's indicating the tv that the lamp is going out, reset the lamp timer and you should be fine, if not, it's probable you might have a defective ballast which are not expensive, they're way cheaper than a lamp, they're running around 70 dlls

The most common indications of a weak bulb in a Sony LCD Rear Projection TV are:
  • Dimimage with low brightness and contrast.
  • NoPicture, Dark Screen.
  • Shadowsin Image, sometimes circular.
  • Intermittent Shutdown.
  • Fluctuating or Flashing Brightness.
  • Longerthan Normal starting time.
Also check for distortion caused by Optical Engine Failure. If any of these faults are present, bulb will not fix. Sony Optical Engine Fault Gallery

I have a 60" Sony


Hi,
It seems lamp/ bulb popped again, check lamp inside tv.
If tv does not show red blinking light then it would be lamp that knocked off, replace lamp in tv to fix its problem, please buy Sony original lamp for good picture in tv.

No, it's a sign of bad convergence. Fix it from the convergence menu.

LOST THE LIGHT BULB [SET ON RIGHT SIDE OF SCREEN] THEN LOST BLUE


I replaced bulb on SOny XBR 60 with sony brand bulb about six months ago. everything was fine, then a week ago it seems that I lost the "red" portion of the color. Any suggestions?

The green is taking over all the color on the tv

I have the same TV which had the same issue ( green in picture ) - back on 10/2007. I called Sony. They had their technician replace the optical box ( factory defect ). There was no charge for the repair even though TV was out of first year of warranty. Call Sony.

Turns on and off green LED flashes until TV turns back on.


this is a symptom of a bad lamp. for some reason it won't spit out a lamp error. shaking up the lamp will sometimes fix temporarily but you will find replacing to be the answer. if your tv has a fan error, you will get 4 red blinks.
