How do you change the brushes on a Remington pole electric chainsaw model number 108526-01? I am having a prob getting the motor out of the casing.

not sure about this particular model but many saws have the brush accessible from the motor casing. Look for a round disc with a screwdriver slot on the motor casing. These round discs should be on opposite sides of the motor housing

Snapper riding lawn mower loosses the power to move up hill from a dead stop even though the motor has plenty of power, how can i fix this? is their a belt that is slipping?

if it is belt driven yes it sounds like its slipping may be worn or some idler pullys are adjustable via a slot in bracket where bolt goes through pully if it is disc driven the rubber disc is probably worn. if mower is a rear engine rider close vent on gas cap,set brake then lift mower from front and stand up on rear bars at bottom by floor you will see a rubber disc which is held on by 4 nuts. if has electric start try not to leave up for too long, should only take 15 min to replace hope this helps

THE BEARINGS SEEM TO BE BAD. IS THERE 1 OR 2?

The only brown debris that i could think of is shredded rubber. Usually from a belt. If your bearings are bad and jamming up the movement of the machine then it could shred the belt. And the bearings may be jammed from the rubber stabilizer straps either broken, overly cracked and loosely supportive. Other than that i could not think of anything else that would cause the problems you describe.

MODLE 80 WONT AGATATE OR SPIN

First, see the Sears parts site for your washer:

http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/getModel!retrieve.pd?pop=true&modelNumber=110.29852991

Kenmore / Whirlpool top load, direct drive washers use a "Motor Coupler" between the motor and transmission.

It's used as a fail safe device and consists of three parts.

Two of the parts are the same, plastic units with three prongs that fit on one of the motor output shafts and the other on the transmission input shaft. Between them is a rubber piece with six holes.

The power from the motor is transmitted through the rubber piece to the transmission.

The other shaft on the motor directly drives the pump.

If the motor coupler is broken, or worn, the motor may not be able to send full power to the transmission for agitating or spinning.

See the following for how to remove the cabinet, pump, motor and motor mounting plate to inspect and replace the motor coupler.

http://www.american-appliance.com/catalog/newsdesk_info.php?newsPath=16&newsdesk_id=137

If the coupler looks damaged, it's a relatively easy fix.

Pry the plastic pieces from the motor and transmission. Some people use a claw hammer but I've found that using a small (6 inch) pry bar works well.

Carefully fit the plastic pieces over the motor and transmission shafts and press them in place (Use a 1/2" of larger socket to put pressure equally around the pieces.

Put the rubber piece on the transmission plastic piece.

Replace the motor mounting plate.

Carefully line up the plastic prongs on the motor based plastic piece to the three un-used holes in the rubber piece. If they don't line up right, the coupler could be damaged.

Mount the motor, don't forget the two screws, put the pump back on the motor and use its' clips.

Put the cabinet back on, don't forget to plug the lid switch back in and re-mount the console.

Maytag washer noise during wash cycle

Check for the tighten nut to agatator is tighten. If agatator is lose it floats up and down during the wash. There is a lock ring (rubber) on the shaft that holds the agatator on, check this, if off replace thid . If the agatator is still in good shape can still use it , if not pull of and replace it. This work is't hard to do.

Washer doesn't agitate.

Hi Karen,
It is not normal to smell a burning smell after a new coupler install. If the pump is not held on the motor with two clamps then it will raise off of the motor and strip the pump. This would cause the burning smell and also cause you to need a new pump. Before you use it again install the second pump clamp. If you cant find it let me know and we can ship you one over.
