Digital channels My cable company just switched over to all digital channels, but I have only 12 channels that are digital and 17 that are analog. The thing is I have had all the digital channels before the last couple weeks certain channels are scrambled or not there at all. I do get all the channels in the other 2 rooms in the house. Please help is it my tv or the cable?

SOURCE: my philips lcd digital tv says I am recieveing

First verify that the direct TV satellite box is set to receive and display digital stations. If you old set on the sat was analog, the box may not have been reset. You may have to contact you satellite provider. Next you will have to go to the TV menu and auto program/scan in the stations. This should pick up all the stations.

SOURCE: 47'' philips flat screen does not install channels

Go directly to theback of the set via the back RCA connectors(yellow, red, white) or component video, and turn set on Aux. If it works the tuner is Messed!

SOURCE: digital channels have stopped working, only blue screen!

Try resetting the TV:

  1. Switch on TV and switch to any analogue channel.
  2. On the TV: Press and hold the MENU button.
  3. Menu screen will appear on the display.
  4. Do not release the MENU until the menu screen disappears.
  5. TV will go blank for about 60 seconds and then display initial set up screen.
  6. Follow the on-screen prompts to re-tune the TV.
If this does not work then the problem is likely to be a loose ribbon cable or main small signals board inside the TV.

SOURCE: Channel Scan on my Philips 26" TV only finds the local channels.

Hi.

you should go into your tv's setup menu and go to the tuner settings and make sure it is set to CATV (cable tv) and not Antenna/Air also splitting a cable to many times can cause the signal to weaken and gain a lot of noise/distortion that could be an issue that can only be solved by having the company come to the house and do a test ALSO when your in the tuner menu in under your tv's setup menu try adding a non local channel manualy and then see if the tv will tune to it, if so then you might have to add them manually at the worst... my guess is that it is not set to CATV/cable tv hope this helps and if not i hope someone else can.

Is there a switch or something I need to do to get my tvs to get analog channels clear when I am hooked to cable?

See if the tuner on the TV has a provision to add both analog AND digital channels as a choice. If so, then select that and then do a new channel search. Ask if the cable company uses standard or irc channel spacing and set your tuner on the TV to match.

When the cable company offers you digital cable, you typically need a cable box to unscramble the digital channels. Therefore you need to connect either a coaxial cable from the cable box's RF output, if it has one, or connect 3 RCA cables from the yellow, white and red jacks on the rear panel of the cable box to the TV. Analog channels only (if available) will go straight thru over the coaxial RF hookup. They are not scrambled. Select the proper input source on the TV for the cable box.

How do i tune in my digital cable on my analog tv?

You'll need a digital cable box for that, I'm afraid. The analog tuner in the set isn't compatible with the digital cable signal. The cable company in my city just dropped their analog service. Now you either need a digital converter box, or a "cable box lite" called a digital transport adapter. For digital off-the-air broadcasting you need a digital tuner and probably an amplified or outdoor antenna. The analog TV is rapidly becoming pretty useless except as a display device as analog channels disappear.

My tv is attached to a cable inpt but no cable box i am able to watch all cable channels by switching tv chanels,is the inpt digital or analog

The signal you are viewing is an analog signal.

The cable companies take the signals for your basic channels and resend them through the cable as analog so the customers that still plug the cable direct to their TV can still get some programming without the added costs of digital cable boxes on every TV.

This option will be slowly phased out over time but for now it is available.

Most HDTVs have ATSC, QAM and NTSC (analog) tuners. It sounds like yours does not have an NTSC (analog) tuner. QAM tuners only pick up digital cable channels. You may need to switch to your cable company's digital service if your not already on it. Call your cable company for further info

Cable company switched to digital and the audio quit working for channels under 100 - former analog channels. channels 100+ work fine. when I switch to dtv, I get the "no signal" message.

If you are using HDMI with the cable companies cable box, you may have to go into the
cable box menue and set the audio out as HDMI. I had a similar problem with my cable providers box.
Hope this helps,
