Is there a preferred startup menu for my Toshiba Satellite L655-S5078?

Hi,

Regarding a computer's start-up menu, it is optional. You can choose which start-up programs you want to run on your computer during start-up. To access its control, just follow the steps below.
  1. Click on Start.
  2. Type msconfig on the start search bar and hit enter.
  3. MSCONFIG window will come up. If you see a check box that says "Disable all Microsoft Programs", put a check on it.
  4. Click on the Start Up tab.
  5. Carefully uncheck all the programs you don't want to run upon start-up.
That's it. Running minimal programs on start-up can help speed up your computer's initial load process.

Your computer is trying to load a lot of programs on startup. Click Start --> Run, type msconfig. A window will appear, and on the Startup tab uncheck all startup programs and reboot. Then go back to msconfig and check the programs that you need.
