Re: ps2 region disk
The NTSC , I think NTSC stands for National Trade Security Commission, either way they implemented Region locks. You need to get on Ebay and buy you a PS2 that is NTSC-PAL to play your UK Games. The one you bought here in America is a NTSC-U/C. Same thing goes for all DVD players in the world.

It means that the PS2 can't read the disc. Playstation 2s in the US are NTSC, while those in the UK are PAL. PAL discs can not be played on an NTSC PS2, and NTSC discs can not be played on a PAL console. This is because the consoles are region-locked and you can only play games from the region the PS2 itself was sold in.
on ebay there is guys selling a toll to make the ps2 to play games and movies from other region code go to ebay on top enter ps2 then accessories you may find some one there I saw then about 3 months ago
Hi, This problem actually related to the region change. For this problem you have to install a modification chip in your PS2 console after that it will play all your games according to your region. For this you have to contact any expert nearby to you. Thanks
If this is a rental copy the most likely answer is simply that the disk is scratched or damaged to the point that your PS2 can't read it.
With rental games you also need to double check that store staff placed the correct disk in the box, have a look at the disk an ensure it is not an XBox copy.
This message would normally suggest however that the copy you have is not from the same region as you're PS2, if you have a US PS2 it will only play US PS2 games, if you have a UK PS2 it will only play UK PS2 games Etc. you cannot play UK games on a US PS2 and vice versa unless your PS2 is fitted with a 'mod chip' and you will usually require a 'swap disk' as well.
**be sure you understand the copyright issues involved if you decide to pursue this**
Another possibility is that it is a DVD R, not a legitimate disk, without a 'mod chip' your PS2 will not read games written to DVD R/RW (and doing so is most definitely illegal regardless what those to cheap to pay for there games will tell you about "backups").
