The only way to change the status is to change printheads.

I have hp designjet 450c..the problem in printing.while printing it prints copy of the image also and not clear.i dnt know whts the problem..please help me..

That usually is caused by clogged or damaged printheads. There are 4 printheads, Black, Cyan, Magenta and Yellow. When you replace the printheads you need to calibrate the machine so the colors line up with one another.

I just bought a used HP 1050c from a goverment auction. When running the start up procedure I noticed the check print heads ran through alright but when the "align printheads " there was the problem...

The print heads have a float operated valve in them like a toilet tank. The float is a tiny plastic bag with air in it. When the bag leaks it doesn't float any more and the valve stays open. Replace the print head.

Error 1252 power/on and off

System Error: System Error 125x: Sub-Tank Supply Error
The Sub-Tank Sensor does not switch to less than half even though ink has been
x = 0: Printhead Number 1 (Black).
x = 1: Printhead Number 2 (Light Magenta).
x = 2: Printhead Number 3 (Light Cyan).
x = 3: Printhead Number 4 (Yellow).
x = 4: Printhead Number 5 (Magenta).
x = 5: Printhead Number 6 (Cyan).
Corrective Action: Try the following:
Enter the Motors Menu (in Maintenance Mode) and set the "Solenoid L"
and "Solenoid R" options to "Closed" to cut the outside air. Now set the
"Cap Stat Motor" to "Prime" to discharge the ink from the Sub-Tank and
check if the Ink Supply Motor drives by turning the power ON again when
there is a little bit of ink left. If the Motor is not driven, replace the
corresponding Cable or Ink Supply Station.
Check whether the Sub-Tank Sensor Plate works correctly and is not
blocked by any foreign object.

My out of warranty l7680 will not print or photocopy in colour. Printhead status says Refilled supply Detected in printhead Black No/Yellow Yes Magenta Yes/Cyan Yes Detected in Printer Black No/Yellow Yes...

The error states that you are using non-HP cartridges for all colours. If black prints fine then you should replace the colour cartridges with genuine HP colour carts. You should be able to get a refund on the refills since they clearly do not work as intended.

Printing yellow for black

Hi Jan,

Can you confirm that you are using a CIS or non-HP cartridges with this printer?

It sounds a lot like the printhead has reached a clogging point where sediment has built up in the black portion and loosens enough to printer a few lines before it re-asserts itself again.

Based on my experience of this printer, if you're using a non-HP delivery system for ink then you should consider replacing the black ink with a dyebase alternative instead of pigment.. Replacing the Black/Yellow printhead and running a number of test prints to purge the pigment ink in the printhead should then result in a clean and more reliable printout in future.

One other vector for problems is the cleaning area and I've found that this can become soiled with excess ink causing cross contamination within the inks of one printhead. As yet I've not found a reliable solution to counter this sort of issue.

Hope this gives some clues and hopefully some ideas of a fix.

Printhead replacement

I don't just change the printheads, go to utilities and recover printheads.
If all printheads are playing up, che3ck the magenta cleaner, if it's over full it can cause all printheads to fail, this info was taken from a page on the HP web page, but ?I can't remeber where.
