As soon as we are what?

try fully chatrging the battery if the signal is intermittent. Make sure it has a clear view of the sky, away from your phone or car radio

TomTom ONR 3RD EDITION no GPS signal when disconnected from HOME

The GPS signal shown on tomtom HOME is a demo and in no way represents the actual funtionalitiy of your GPS unit. The GPS receiver if still not working after you did 'the obvious' needsto be replaced. Workshop repair required

Why is my gps losing its signal

Try connecting it to the computer and running an update from TomTom Home, there is a GPS fix that might help. Obviously the TomTom needs clearence to see the satalites in the sky otherwise try a hard reset with a pen in the bottom.

This is a common issue with TomTom software in general!
To alleviate this issue, Tomtom has released QuickGPS add-on to locate satellites faster. If you have not got it loaded to your device, download the appropriate version of QuickGPS from the TomTom site and make sure you use TomTom Home (connected to the Web and your device) to update both your MAP and QuickGPS on a regular basis.

Hope it helps: let me know how you go and good luck!

No satellite signal

Some vehicles have a coating in the windshield that can interfere with the GPS unit receiving the satellite signal. It is not the unit's fault. You may need to purchase an external antenna to allow your unit to work inside your vehicle. These are available at www.garmin.com or at your local GPS retailer.

No GPS Signal in TomTom One XL all of a sudden

I suddenly lost the GPS signal today and could not get it back. All I got was the "No valid GPS signal". My solution was to tap on the GPS satellite bars when in the route map. this brought up the "Status summary page of the TOMTOM.

I then again tapped the satellite bar which brought up the "GPS Status" page. I then tapped the bar labeled "configure".

The radio button next to the option titled "Minutes (dm.m') was selected. I then moved the selection to "Degrees (d.d) and it started working.

I had just downloaded the GPS fix 5 days ago so it is not like this suddenly caused it to stop working.

This may not work for everyone but this is what it took to get mine working.

Cheers
