This could be due to several items the drum might be worn you can check this by taking out the drum and look at the surface to see if there is a line there coild also be a wear line on the fusing unit usually where the guide fingers are if you have the knowledge the first place would be the scanner mirrors just to see if there is any dirt you can usualy take the top plate off and lift the glass out with the machine turned off you can move the scanner mirrors by gently pulling on teh carriage then get a soft clean cloth and clean the mirrors. ..good luck A

How to take out the thin line comimg from my sharp ar153 copier machine

Try cleaning the slit glass. Thin strip of glass under the feeder.

clean it really well with some rubbing alcohol the line should go away.

test by making a copy off of the glass platen.

if you have a line when copying from the big glass you need some maintenance, probably a new drum/blade combo.

There is Dark spots on paper when a photocopy is done

Most likely there is something on the glass or something ie: dust underneath the glass that gets in the way of the scanner and the paper(dots) or on the scanner itself(streak). I have heard many times that photocopy machines in cvs/wall greens, any kind of commercial copy places and even libraries deliberately mark on the glass with permanent marker to prevent any kind of copy fraud. You can clean the glass with rubbing alcohol or goof off to remove any stubborn ink on the glass and then use some Windex or something, but if its underneath the glass or on the scanner bar you will need to take some stuff apart clean it and place it back. IF you do that make sure its SUPER clean and you dont leave any finger prints on it

I have a sharp ar-bc 260 have perfect black lines on copies only copy mode print mode is fine

Clean all your glass including the thin strip on the left side that handles scanning for the doc feeder. Run copies both off the glass and the doc feeder. If the line is still there then take off the glass, dust the inside scan cavity and dust your 3 mirrors with a new, lint free rag. Make sure your glass is completely clean before you put it back on.

When i make copies only a single black line appears on the sheet ??

lift up the doc feeder and look at the **** glass(long rectangular piece of glass) sometimes white out or toner gets stuck on it... or even a staple... clean it with rubbing alcohol and a smooth piece of cloth... try copying again... if it returns and the glass is clear... look right above the **** glass where the plastic sits that guides the paper sometimes ink or whiteout builds up there and you have to clean it... if its tough to get out use your fingernails...

Dark edges

It depends... never use a Reman cart in these machines... only use sharp...especially if the machine is under warranty.

Does this happen when,
Using the Doc Feeder
When making copies from the Glass
Or when you print from a computer (assuming you print from a PC)

If you print something and this happens then it is inside the machine
Probably toner or developer dumping...

Take a few pieces of large white paper and cover the entire glass surface... make a copy is the line there? If so see the answer above... if not then close the top and make a copy with no paper on the glass... is that black line there.. If so then your top needs adjustment...

One more test
If you make a copy using the doc feeder, this black line only occurs when making copies with the doc feed, clean the **** glass, and try again...

AR-206 copying problem / paper comes out slanted

There could be somthing in you ADF that is keeping the copy from going in properly. Your tires could need cleaning or there could be something going on with a component in the ADF.

Sould have a technician inspect the ADF to see if it needs cleaning or parts.

When do you see the black line? Is it only when you use the ADF or with the copyboard glass as well? If it is only with the adf the small piece of glass that the orginal is scaned over is dirty, just clean the glass really good with windex......

Black line

try cleaning the scan glass, there should be a thin scan glass that the paper runs over when you use the feeder that may have white out or some other foreign object on it, try cleaning this using rubbing alcohol and a cloth rag

Black line left on copies from the document feeder

Ah, the beauty of digital manipulation :)

In the old days you would have to change the paper in the tray too...

I've been looking online for the glass, and can't locate it. They will charge you a bundle for a piece of glass anyway (I know Konica charges about $50 one).

As to the question of a sensor. If there's no wire on it, there's no sensor. Some manufacturers use a "coating" that goes to a ground wire for anti-static, etc. Most likely, yours doesn't require this.

Also, to prolong the life of the new glass (now don't tell ALL of my secrets) use armor-all, car wax, even pledge (the wood stuff) on a rag and buff the glass. Just a dab will do.

I'll keep looking online for the part for ya.

Good luck!
