Make sure the connector cable from the finisher is plugged into the copier. Unplug the copier power cord first if you have to reconnect it.

SOURCE: Copier Error Message

Their's a sensor that the Plug from the Finisher to the copier is not read, first make sure the "Attachment Kit' thats the part where when you push the Finisher to the Copier it Locks, their is a metal tab that sticks out and hits a "Sensor" if it doesn't hit the sensor it will keep telling you attach finsiher or close cover, if it's too annoying you can remove the finisher and unplug it from the rear. On the cover thier are alos sensors that need to be activated by tabs,MAKE SURE these are not missing if you do you need to order these items from "Koycera-Mita" Check those sensors

Hello Expert, Canon image runner was moved to a new location. Now error displays "attach finisher". Do you know what may be causing this error? Thank you

Hello rob,
the copier sees the finisher is attached but it does not believe the finisher is firmly docked against the copier. There is a mechanical latching system that holds the finisher firmly against the copier and has a positive latching system, This externally mounted hardware that resides on the copier not only has a physically latching mechanism **** also has a metal tab that sticks out and penetrates an area of the finisher. This small **** on the finisher has a switch inside,When the finisher is close enough and secured to the copier the metal tab on the copier penetrates the **** on the finisher and presses the switch and tells the copier the finisher is in place. The finisher is either not close enough and docked securely to the copier, or the metal tab on the copier is bent and not reaching the switch on the finisher, or the switch was damaged by the move.

Kyocera KM-2530 printer displays "Attach Finisher." It was working until we moved it recently. Checked all cords and rebooted several times to no avail. Couldn't see any push rods or buttons that need...

on the copier metal bracket that finisher attaches far end or front ull see a metal pin that sticks out.
That pin goes in to the finisher white plastic hole.Inside that hole there is a switch that tells the copier the finisher is attached.

Ricoh AF/2090 finisher des'nt attached

The finisher for a Ricoh 2090 is not hot-swappable, meaning you have to turn the copier off completely, attach the finisher cable, and then turn the copier on in order for it to correctly recognize the finisher.

I have a canon machine ir 3035,when ever you switch the machine on it says set the finisher as far as it can go which i did but its still persisting could you plz tell me what to do thank you

the problem cause could be the machine detects that the finisher is not positioned properly if you can detached the finisher from the machine check a hole in the finisher that match a protrusion from the machine , it pushes an interrupter to tell the machine that a finisher was in the correct position. to check fold a small piece of paper and push in to the hole( while the finisher is detached) check the display panel, hope this will help

I need to detach finisher from main body and then reattach once I have moved it to the next room.

Turn off main switch. Unplug power cord. Remove two screws where the extendable frame of the finisher connects to the copier. Unplug the connector cord from the back of the copier by pushing release button on the connector.. Done.
