Question about Canon CanoScan LiDE 600F Flatbed Scanner

Scanning Different Sized Sheets

I am trying to scan various sized sheets of paper and it is taking way to long since it scans the entire page. Is there a setting that the scanner can detect and scan only the paper size that is on the flat bed?

Re: Scanning Different Sized Sheets

There should be a preview option that scans more quickly than actually scanning the page. Then after the preview shows, you can select the area that you want to actually scan and then you hit the Scan button. If you are using the Canon software, this should work for ya.

Hi Nicole,

There are two (2) things that I want you to try.

First, run the HP Scan Diagnostic Utility: CLICK HERE

Second, run the Microsoft diagnostic scanner. CLICK HERE

Hopefully, if you have a firmware or software problem, these two self-explanatory apps will solve your problem(s).

All the best,

Canon DR-5010C when settings are changed to Auto Detection for page size gets an error message stating that "Scanning parameters are incorrect." I want to be able to scan stacks of paper of various sizes....

If you are using CapturePerfect 3, select page size as Auto-detection, detect size by Image width, Deskew by roller & Image, then you will get images exactly as that of the scanned image.
If you ae using CP2, then you can select Auto-detection AND page detection. The problem with CP2 is if the image is less than that of the guide-plate, you will get black background. You can clean this through software.
If you had select B&W scanning and chosen to save file in JPG format, the scanner will report error. JPG is only for Color/ Grey scale.
With CP2, I have observed that sometimes, the changes are not retained, unless you select 'default' first and alter the parameters. This is not found in CP3.

When scanning with the ADF all I get is a white page. I cannot find a solution. This is the second scanner I have had as I sent the first one back with the same problem. Maybe I am doing something wrong.

You could be feeding the paper upside down.
Try turning the sheets over and re-scan.
The paper travels into the scanner from the top and then onto the glass. This means the paper should start out with printing face up.

Parts of page being scanned are cut off

Whcih version of CapturePerfect you are using?
I use ver 2.0. In the settings page select scanners maximum. In the 'advanced' select auto detection. Then whatever size of the paper guides you choose, that will will be the width and ofcourse the length is automatic. There is a sensor under the paper guide, and it detects the paper width. Any rotation chosen will be after scanning the required size.

Dr 5010c feeds one to five sheets, then stops

Clean the rubber rollers (pickup and ******) with a damp cloth, loosen the papers to be scanned. Clean all the rollers in the scanning path. What is the eror that is displayed? Download the user manual from this site (5010um.pdf). Change the rollers if they are old.

HP ScanJet 5590 automatic feeder not working

Have you tried scanning in the flat bed mode? Does it scan okay? If the image is good, then there is no problem with scan module. Check your page settings. If the page size selected for scanning is smaller than actual size, there can be some peoblems. Try and scan with max size. Check if the sensors are dust/paper free. A small piece of paper (The small round discarded piece from Computer stationery) in the paper sensor can create trouble.

There is glass platen and on its sides you can see the markings to place various paper sizes. Just follow them as per your paper size.
