Zoom error when camera is turned on shows zoom error loved the camera til the lens stuck out and it reads zoom errorhave taken it back to where purchased and they had no suggestions have written the nearest agent which is in venezuela and have not heard from them

    Zoom error when turned on. Camera in excellent shape and always kept dry. shutter is stuck half open as well.

    i took my fuji finepix a600 camera out of my bag one day and i went to turn it on and it said zoom error. what do i do now?

    I was using my A600 camera on full zoom and now the lens is stuck on full out and wont retract, the camera and lens was not touched or knocked in any way, the error message is focus error and the camera is now unusable

Push zoom button up and down until "zoom error" banner goes away.

When the lens comes out, gently pull it as far as it will go, wiggle it a bit and it should right itself. just tried it with mine and it's sorted.

Camera won't zoom correctly.

Fujifilm finepix j38 series reads zoom error and wont take a pic.
If you have some skills, you can open the camera and cline your zoom lens with toothbrush and compressed air. Try to separate zoom lens from the electric motor. usually is 2 or 3 screws. You will see a lot of sand inside the camera and lens. And next time when you will go to the beach, you will take more care about your camera.
Solution 2, and more easy is to buy another zoom lens from ebay.Or another camera same model with broken LCD or other technical problem than zoom lens.

Hi.

If you try turning on the camera with the lens cap on, you may get zoom error. Ensure that you are removing the lens cap before turning on the camera.

If the autofocus ring is held while taking the picture, or operating the lens this will also cause the Zoom error message coming up.

If that is not the problem, then the lens has troubles extending. This may happen because of dust stuck in lens mechanism, or because of a mechanical fault concerning the lens.
Any cause preventing lens from full extention or retraction will trigger zoom error.
