Question about Samsung SGH-U600 Cellular Phone
I had, and still have, similar problems with my 2-y old U600. It turns out that my slider flex ribbon cable is damaged (this is the one I'm referring to). Due to many sliding movements of the phone, the ribbon cable eventually wears out and gets damaged.
If you plan to repair the phone yourself, beware that the phone is pretty hard to open at the bottom (at the ribbed part). I have a service manual for this phone, so if you're interested, just let me know.
Hope this was helpful. If it was, please rate me.

start your investigation with the volume buttons if the volume is low or some
if this still doesn't work check if you can hear the other party's voice using the phone either with a headset or on the loudspeaker
two possibilities here
1. if you still cant hear on the headset or loudspeaker even after the volume is put to max then there is an audio IC problem on the phone
if you can her the other party on the headset/ loud speaker then you have just identified that the phone speaker is damaged
hope this helped
pls rate the solution if it was any help
