Not enough water supply F8E1 in a front load washer

Long fill error code if you have flood safe water hoses replace with regular hoses, this may sound stupid but I have seen this in the field make sure water is turned on, other possible reasons bad inlet valve or no power to valve from control, front load washers are notorious for rubbing a hole in the tube that goes to the pressure switch this switch is what tells the control to output power to the inlet valve also make sure the drain hose hasn't fallen to the floor. Quickest way to eliminate some things start with an empty washer after door locks unlocks and locks again the basket will rotate a few times then water should enter the machine fill to a level in the the basket that is barely above the bottom holes in the bottom then stop this eliminates control and inlet valve , if unit continues to fill and you get water half way up the door glass probably a hole in pressure switch tube I very seldom see a pressure switch go bad hopes this helps.

Whirlpool Duet Sport Model WFW8300SW0 basket won't

The following list of codes indicates an electronics communication problem with the washer: - Duet HT washer - F01, F03, F06, F11, F23, F24, F27, F28, F29, F30, F31, F32, F35, F42, F61, F62, F63, F64, F65, F70, F71, and F99

If Pause/Cancel does not work:
  1. Unplug washer or disconnect power for one minute.
  2. Plug in washer or reconnect power.
  3. Re-select the cycle and press Start.
NOTE: If the error remains on the display, call for service.

I would first replace the door latch/lock assembly, a number of users have and it fixed the F-11 error code completely. Its the cheapest part for this problem.

Hope helps.

Duet whirlpool washer mysteriously floods the floor when we are gone. It happens when door is closed or open. Even when empty and off. 4 times now!

I had the same problem, found it at about 2 am. No fun. Pretty easy fix. The part on the back of the washer where you screw in the water lines in needs replaced. Its been 2 years but I think it only took about 30 mins to fix once I had the part. Remove the top of the washer (couple screws in back) The part that the hoses screw into has a wire that goes to it that opens/closes the vaule when it needs water, its not closing all the way and water is continuing to fill. Good luck, think the part was about $50 or so. I would shut off the water at the wall in between washings until its fixed, and when on vacation. The hoses always have water in them if the. good luck

Standing water in a Duet when turned off...

More than likely you have a fill valve problem. This is the only component that controls the turning on or shutting off of water thats between the dispenser tube and the fill hoses . You also may have a condition known as "siphoning" that can cause this. The following link explains:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r587481-prevent_washer_siphoning

Normally this condition is associated with a washer that cannot retain a sufficient water level and constantly drains. It can also cause back flow from the drain too. Just something to consider.

If you're sure its not a simple installation issue on your drain hose placement, take a look at the dispenser tube thats located in the rubber door bellow. A tale-tell sign of inlet valve leak by is a small trickle or drip of water coming from the dispenser tube. It may not be readily noticeable, but can show up as water sitting in the bottom of the spin basket over time. NOTE: It is NORMAL to have residual water between the spin basket and outer tub shell. This water, however, should not be at a level where it is visible inside the basket when the tub is empty.

Now, if you decide to replace the water inlet valve, a replacement can be ordered on line at searspartsdirect.com. Just type in your COMPLETE model number and look for item number 1 (part #8181694) under the "Dispenser Parts" heading. To replace the valve, follow these steps:

1. Unplug washer and turn off water supply. Disconnect fill hoses from back of washer.
2. Remove the washer top panel by removing the screws that hold it in place in the rear of the washer. With the screws removed, the panel will slide back, then lift off.
3. The water inlet valve is located in the left rear of the washer (as viewed from the front). Remove the dispenser hose(s) and electrical connectors from the valve.
4. Remove the mounting screws that holds the inlet valve in place.
5. Reinstall with a replacement valve using the above steps in reverse order.

It's that simple. This is not a difficult repair at all, and its not that expensive. I hope you find this information helpful. If you require additional assistance let me know.
