Do you have the codes to operate a universal Radio Shack remote, model 15-2142 for a Magnasonic DVD/VCR Dual Deck Model 825?

You can find the manual for the Radio Shack 4-in-1 Remote 15-2142 at ManualsLib and some other sites. A direct link to the PDF of the manual is here: http://www.rockabilly.net/files/manuals/15-2142.pdf . The ManualsLib version of the manual: https://www.manualslib.com/manual/635735/Radio-Shack-4-In-1-Remote-Control.html . The only code listed for a Magnasonic VCR is 0593. No Magnasonic DVD players are listed. If your Magnasonic DVD/VCR was built more than 6 months before the remote was programmed, then the remote has the best chance of having the correct code. The copyright date for the manual appears to be 1999.

I hope this helps. You may want to try searching through all of the codes. Many electronics manufacturers use a common supplier for the IR sensor chip and encoding.

Can DVD DISKS BE COPIED FROM VHS TAPES ON A dual; DECK MACHINE?

There are machines made just for that task such as the Magnavox DVD recorder. There is a VHS tape deck on one side and a DVD recorder on the other side. You can copy a VHS tape to a DVD and copy a DVD onto a VHS tape as well

I just bought and set up the vhs to dvd program but when i coppied the video onto the disc and tried to play ti in the dvd player it said disc error.i made sure i followed the hook up directions.help!

You have either used a disc that is not compatible with your dvd player, or used the wrong file system for the dvd and/or format, have not finalized the dvd recording.
If you use a dvd-r for recording, the disc has to be finalized, regions use different formats of video(UK=PAL, USA=NTSC)
The easiest way to use your disc would be to convert the video to avi format(xvid divx mp4/3) and burn to a disc as data format.
Download ANY VIDEO CONVERTER FREE,
and ASHAMPOO BURNING STUDIO6 FREE .
Use the converter to change the video to avi, use the studio to burn the video as a data disc, you can get up to 14hours per standard dvd(28 hrs on a dual layer). Put the disc in and it will play as a DivX dvd.

VHS to DVD

I just bought at Best Buy the Samsung DVD Recorder & VCR. You can copy your VHS tapes right to DVD and or hook up an external source into the deck and copy them to DVD.  I find it working well but many of my tapes have tracking issues which is becoming a hurdle for myself.

No Instruction Manual

1. Insert a blank DVD disc in the DVD deck and
close the disc tray.
2. Insert the VHS video tape you wish to copy into
the VCR deck.
3. Find the place on the VHS tape from which you
want to start dubbing using the PLAY, FF, REW
and PAUSE functions. For best results, pause
playback at the point from which you want to
record.
4. Press the DUBBING button on the Remote
Control or DUB on the front panel.
The Dubbing menu appears.
5. Use the arrow keys to select the desired Record
Mode: EP, LP, SP or XP.
6. Select [Dubbing] then press ENTER or DUBBING
to start copying.
7. To stop dubbing at any other time, press STOP (x).
Dubbing will stop automatically when the VHS tape ends.
