Question about SanDisk Sansa Clip MP3 Player

Sansa Clip (4GB) has sudden internal memory loss

About five minutes ago I was placing my mp3 Sansa clip with 4gb on shuffle, and I experienced a total internal memory loss. I have no tracks, no artists, no albums; it is all gone. There was nothing that I did to cause this to happen. It just occurred. Despite having a total lack of tracks on this said mp3, I currently have about 1gb of memory, even though if all of the tracks had been cleared from the mp3, I would have 4gb, perhaps 3 1/2. I've never had this happen before. I have made numerous google searches on the matter and I have found nothing.

I went to the Sansa website and there really was no help there. I don't have access to my main computer to try to update it to Rhapsody--this may be another factor in the problem, as I use Rhapsody and think that perhaps the dissapearance of tracks could be an error in the music sharing host's programming.
Any Ideas?

Hai, i have sansa clip 2gb with the same problem. one ultimate answer i got is Sansa clip uses Media Transfer Protocol(MTP). Sandisk(maker of salsa clip) know about the problem which cannot be solved(the earlier sansa products are to be avoided). There is no solution with the company.

Sandisk sansa clip 4gb doesent work properly.

This problem looks like a totally faulty device. This will need a firmware upgrade. Try to upgrade the firm ware. If it does not work then you will have to take it to some service center and get a chip level servicing.

SANSA Clip 4GB: Suddenly the output volume is very low even at highest volume setting

My 8Gb Clip did the same after a firmware update. Apparently it's due to new EU regs about MP3 player volume limiting. To fix select 'reset all' (note any settings you want to re-set later), after reset, select your language and then set region to 'Rest of World'. Sorted!

Can an 8GB microSDHC card be used in my Sansa Fuze 4GB mp3 player

Actually, it sounds as if the card is working. The more you have on the card, the more free internal memory you'll need so it can build its media database. Remove the card, then delete some files from the internal memory to free up space. Then reinsert the card.
