Question about Samsung LE32R74BDX 32 in. HD-Ready LCD Television

1 Answer

When I connect my Toshiba Satellite Laptop to my Samsung 22" LCD TV (Series 4 LA22A450) via a VGA lead I get a "mode not supported" message on the screen. It was working but I changed settings on the laptop and never again. Is there a way to return display settings on Laptop to default? Any other fixes?

I had the same issue with my laptop after I upgraded my video driver. Check on the Toshiba website for the correct display driver for your laptop and download it. Follow their directions and install it on to your hard drive. If it is the same driver that came with your laptop originally, the default settings should allow you to connect back to your LCD TV and get the proper display. If that doesn't work you will probably have to call Toshiba support and ask them for the default settings.

I have a toshiba satellite p755, it use to be able to hook up to my HD TV with the HDMI chord but now its not connecting..whats the problem?

Make sure all connections Power ,HDMI and any other connecting leads have secure dust free connections also check each lead for any kinks / bends .
Connecting a Toshiba Satellite Laptop to a TV is an ideal way to enjoy videos, photos and other media on the laptop on a much larger screen.
Satellite Laptops can be connected to TVs using VGA, S-Video and even HDMI, though the TV has to have compatible inputs as well.

Connect the RGB cable or S-video cable to an open input on the TV.
Depending on the type of TV, it may or may not have a RGB input.
S-video may have to be used instead.
Connect the 1/4 inch to RCA Y-cable into the TV using the same input as the VGA or S-video cable.
Connect the other end of the VGA or S-video cable and the audio cable into the laptop.
The video ports are on the sides of the laptop.
The audio cable should go into the headphone jack of the laptop.

How do I connect a Toshiba Satellite to my Plasma TV

1. Make sure both the laptop and the TV have VGA adapters.
2. Get a VGA cable to connect the two
3. Upon connecting, press the input button on the remote and navigate to an option that says something like "VGA Computer"
4. On your computer, go to Start and in the search box, look for connecting to a projector.
5. Choose the option that suits your needs and you should be connected.

Hope this helps!

the native res. for the TV is 1680 x 1024.
you may want to try a different resolution
like 800 x 600 or 1024 x 768. not the native resolution

Try pushing the FN button, next to the left CTRL button, and then hit the F5 key at the top. By the number of times you hit the F5 button, you are telling the computer to display on its lcd screen, on the monitor (TV), both, or neither.

Good luck!

Want to connect laptop to tv?

If you are using a LCD/TFT tv it will have HDMI and VGA inputs.
You only need a simple vga lead but this only transfers video not sound.
You can get a usb to hdmi lead, you can also plug in audio leads from your headphone socket and this will transfer video and audio.
