For the upper paper lip, just lift it up (rotate upwards), and pull towards you to remove.

As for the lower paper tray, remove the cover (it should come off easily), and use a flat screwdriver to pry the two round light-grey colored tab on the inside inboard to release the drawer. It takes some fiddling around to get it loose, but it does come loose... Just be careful since those tabs are very brittle and can snap easily.

Best bet is to use the original box for safe transportation, that way you won't need to remove the tray...

Paper keeps jamming. we get a partially printed page, then jams about 2/3 of the way and we have to pull it out.

You can avoid most paper jams by correctly loadingpaper and other media in the printer. Tips on how to help prevent paper jams · Do not loadwrinkled, creased, or damp paper. · Make sure thepaper is not buckled in the tray. · Never mixpaper/media types within a single tray. · Flex, fan, andstraighten paper before you load it. · Do not exceed themaximum stack height. · Push all papertrays firmly into the printer after loading them. · Make sure theguides in the trays are positioned snugly against the paper. · Do not remove anypaper trays while a job is printing. Wait for a Load Paper light sequencebefore you remove the tray. See the 'Load Media' section on page 61 of theUser's Guide for more information. · Use onlyrecommended paper. Consult the CardStock & Label Guide on the Lexmark web site for more information aboutwhich paper provides optimum results for your printing environment. Paper tray doesn't raise on my brothers hl5250dn printer. Says papertray empty

I have had the same exact problem; make absolutely sure that the exit chute is seating properly. With the exit chute open (as if to clear a paper jam) actuate the white spring loaded clips that hold the exit chute, mine were not traveling to their full extension and by moving them a few times this resolved and the exit chute was held more firmly and the rollers spin the right direction.

T640 gives 242.10 error no paper jam found does not happen all the time I open tray 2 , close and hit check works will happen from tray 2 only

Hi, most possible cause are worn rubbers tires in the papertray. You'll have to replace them. Partnumber is 40X0070. For now you can try to take the off and mount them inside out.
Good luck, Gerrit Jan

Dell 1600N printer paper jam

More than likely you need a new pick up roller. It is located at the top of the tray area in the printer. You will see a black rubber roller with white nylon clips on both sides. You can confirm if it is the problem by removing and washing it with soap and water, then clipping it back in and running a few copies.
