Question about Cameras

My Sony DCR-TRV250 flashes self-diagnosis display code C:31:23. The manual says C:31 is an owner correctable malfunction. It doesn't tell me what the 23 means. It suggests I eject the cassette tape and insert it again or disconnect the power cord or the battery and reconnect. I did both, but to no avail. What is a 23 and what is my problem?

Kamal1984, I am pretty certain my camcorder doesn't have a memory stick. The diagram in the manual shows it to the left of the batter pack, but my camcorder doesn't have a slot as it shows in the diagram. What next? Conrad.

Kamil1984 suggested on turn it off, turn it on, hold down the power button, remove the memory card and try starting it again. But I am fairly certain my camcorder doesn't have a memory card. It shows it in the manual to the left of the battery pack, but I haven't a slot next to the batter pack. What does error C:31:23 mean? Thanks. Conrad.

It seems that the :23 portion of the code indicates a misalignment of the reading heads in you camcorder.
You have two choices to correct this issue: Bring it to a Sony Authorized Repair Center, or many people have had success simply giving it a sharp smack on the side.

Everytime i insert the tape i have this beeping sound and flashing numbers on the screen

Sony camcorder has self diagnostic function inbuilt and if it detects any problem in listed sections it will start beeping, you can check error code that would be like C:31:10 or some thing on top right corner of LCD, let me know that error code to find out problem section in camcorder.
Thanks.

The no tape and eject symbols are flashing at the same time.

Those signs means Record tab on tape is ON, eject tape and check record tab and make sure to set it on Record position.

C31:22

Your camcorder has a self-diagnosis display
function.
This function displays the current condition of
your camcorder as a 5-digit code (a combination of
a letter and figures) on the screen. If a 5-digit code
is displayed, check the following code chart. The
last two digits (indicated by ss) will differ
depending on the state of your camcorder.

Look up the error code in you manual
