Feeds line constantly

If the line feeds with out bumping it nay be the line gas been put on the wrong way

Have you tried re assembley? take it apart and completely redo the whole line reel. i f this does not work. Contact Black and Decker online.

Make sure the trimmer line cutoff isn't missing.

Several things can cause the line feed not to function. Using the wrong size line, over-filling the line compartment ...and most often, winding the new line in the wrong direction when replacing the trimmer line. Good luck

this will only happen if you are winding the string the wrong way on the spool itself it shows an aero in the direction to wind

There is a recall on the head units on some of the electric trimmer models,I dont know all the details but one recall is for the head unit actually flying apart. I thought I would tell you,I would contact black and decker and see if yours is one of the recalls.

Sounds as if the line is wound on the spool the wrong way, causing it to want to always feed string.

Easy fix, There are two 12+ volt feeds that should be connected to your unit.
1. Constant feed = 12+ volts that supplies power to the units memory all the time.This wire can be connected from the original radio connector wiring so long as it supplies constant 12+ volts, or be pulled from the battery, with an in-line fuse.
2. Switched feed = 12+ volts that only supplies power when the ignition switch is turned on,This wire can also be connected from the original radio connector wiring so long as it is a switched feed, also with an in-line fuse. 
During installation ether these wires were swapped or the constant feed (memory wire) was not connected.
