Question about GE WBSR3140DW Top Load Washer
This is my first washing machines that will not stop going through the whole cycle with the door open. I have lost so much washing powders with this washer. All other washing machines that I ve owned would fill up with water and then stop until I closed the lid. I would always start my washer when I start putting clothes in and usually go over the house making sure I had everything and sometimes I forget and when I go back, it will havve gone through the whole cycle and boy does that make me mad. I have cussed this thing a many of a times. I never called the service man cause I just figured they changed them. I am just curious and want to know if they did. If they did, I would advise them to go back to the old way. Does anyone out there know????? I have had my washer since 2005. That s how long I ve been going crazy. HaHa
You can replace the lid switch to fix it. The best thing to do is sort your laundry first from all over the house where you left the items. Make a load sized pile and place in washer along with the detergent and then turn on washer. If the switch has been straight wired it will do this. The switch on mine is straight wired and I have no problems with it. The lid switch is on there to keep small children and arms from getting hurt and broken.
