The dryer seems to run fine but no heat. It also ran for several hours a couple times without drying the clothes. The manual says the code is for heating error. I checked the venting and it seems clear. I didn't go poking around a whole lot, but no indication of it being stopped up. So I am thinking I need a thermistor. Where is it located and is it something I can replace on my own? Any tips would be helpful. Thank you.
Could be the thermistor, or the element, or the control board. You have to use a multimeter to troubleshoot the problem. You unplug the dryer, disconnect the element and use an ohmmeter to test the element for continuity.
If you don't have a multimeter, you could replace parts randomly to see if you can find the problem

My dryer was working fine until my son stopped it took out the blanket I was drying and put his shirt in to dry. He pushed the button and it would not come on. The light is on inside but the dryer will not start. I checked the fuse and everything seems fine. Any ideas?
