Front door won't close

As we were drying a small piece of carpeting, the machine got overloaded to one side and "walked out" into the middle of the floor. I guess the door came open and slightly wedged up against the far wall. (Why didn't the machine shut off? Maybe it did, but took a while for it to come to a complete stop.)

As it stands now, the door will not snap closed. I've pressed the "Unlock door" button and tried numerous different things to see if it will snap shut again, but to no avail. It doesn't look like anything got bent, but I'm no expert.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!
Bob

It appears your lid switch/door latch has failed in this instance.

For replacement parts - head on over to PartSelect.com or RepairClinic.com and enter in your full model number for a full parts listing.
I recommend both sites because ...

FixYa has no affiliation with either site - I have been using and recommending them for years - trouble free.

PartSelect has a great schematic database for locating the part on your unit and great "testimonials" for each part that often times includes HOW-TO information.
RepairClinic has pictures of each part they sell and also a great how-to and troubleshooting for basic repairs.

If your unit has never been serviced - there should still be an original service manual enclosed in plastic taped to the inside of the shell.
In the service manual are Error codes, maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting steps you can follow.

Anything too complicated or beyond your scope should be handled by a professional.

If you think you want to tackle the repair - and have gotten stuck on a step - reply to your question and I will be glad to help you out.

What causes water to leak into the interior after rain?

Are you saying the water reappeared while the car was still in the garage? Hope this is not true, as that would most likely be related to the heater core or plumbing, but I thought all that was on the passenger side. If you mean after putting the car back outside and in more rain, possible cowl vent tube leak, windshield leak, or door vents at bottom edge blocked with debris.

Unthawing the water dispenser in the freezer door

If the icemaker is loaded with ice or certain areas of the freezer are perhaps overloaded redirecting cold air toward the water output it can freeze. Also if the ICE shoot has ice cubes obscuring it's closure that area gets cold enough to freeze the water. Check after dispensing ice that the round flap is closed.

I open the freezer door and place three regular sized bed pillows placed into white trash bags into the opening being sure to DEPRESS the light latch with one of the pillow placements so it won't constantly sound a door ajar warning.

I then close the door as much as the pillows will allow and place a chair in front to keep the pillows in place for about 25 minutes. Usually this will do it and the water will begin to flow . I draw off enough to run it completely through the entire line . Sometimes a small piece of ice will come out. I had tried hair dryers and all manner of things and just gave this a shot one day and it works when it freezes for whatever reason it will use.

My Electrolux side-by-side refigerator automatically started dispensing ice cubes in the middle of the night and would not stop until I manually pulled the lever to the stop position. It did this on 2

I have a few ideas for things to try. On the bottom of the ice cube holder I believe there is a spring loaded metal rod that runs from the front of the freezer to a little indentation in the back of the freezer. Inside this indentation there is a small plastic piece that can move up and down to rotate the metal rod. Make sure this metal rod is free to rotate. Sometimes it gets stuck in one position. The position of the plastic piece inside the indent in the rear of the freezer is controlled by a solenoid which is controlled by the buttons on the front of the door for cube or crushed. Close all the doors and push the cube button. Open the freezer door and remove the entire ice cube tray. Reach to the back of the freezer and make sure the little plastic piece inside the indent will move up and down easily. You want it to be in its down position. Re-insert the ice cube tray. The metal rod should fit easily into the indent in the back of the fridge. Now close the door and see if you can get cubes. If this doesn't work I suspect the solenoid that moves the little plastic piece may need to be replaced. I hope this helps you out.

2002 Toyota RAV4 passenger side floor Water

Hi, we also have a 2002 Toyota Rav4 and developed a leak in the front driver's side of the car. After much research, we discovered that the drain wells from our sun/moon roof were clogged. If you have one of these, I suggest that you open the sun roof and look carefully. You will notice some tiny little holes in front and in the rear of the sun/moon roof tracks. Over time, these become clogged with dust and debris. You need to find a long, sturdy piece of thin wire and run it down the holes. To test if you have properly unclogged these, take a small amount of water and pour it down the holes. You should see water coming out of the drain wells under the car around the rear of the front tires. Hope this helps.

Walking during the spin cycle

Try placing it on a rubber mat or carpet that has a rubber backing. The floor may be too smooth and allows it to walk.
