My system has windows XP. It has Compact disc RW cd drive. The CD or DVD gets read in linux but it doesnt read in Windows. It does not even list in My computers.

Look for the Microsoft Works icon in the Program Files folder. When you find it, try to open it from there, if it works, right click on that icon and Send To...Desktop Create Shortcut. Tell me how that works.
