Question about Bosch BUC11700UC Cyclone Jet Bagless Upright Vacuum

1 Answer

My Bosch 1450 Bagless Jet vacuum cleaner shuts off

Same problem as described here.
There seem to be a pattern though. It does it most of the during the summer when it is hot outside, hence warmer inside.
Wondering if this is because I have not changed the filters for a while?

My bosch 1450 vacuum does not have suction

Have you changed the bag lately? If not, I would try that first. If so, then check to be sure that nothing is blocking the pathway of the suction area. Check those two things and if you still have problems, come back and let us know.

Vacuum cleaner stops

The motor has a thermal reset built in. If the filters need replaced the motor can overheat. Filters should be replaced frequently to insure proper cleaning suction and motor life

Filter mesh holder is damaged, locking holes are broken will not lock in place - need new filter mesh

Hi Joe: The model has been discontinued and difficult to find replacement parts. I located a few online suppliers offering a HEPA Filter that fits the BUC11700UC. See here:

http://www.vacuumcleaners.net/bosch-buz200hcuc-hepa-filter-for-bagless-jet-upright.html or

http://www.allergybegone.com/boshepfilfor4.html or

Is this the part you are looking for? The third site above does offer other replacement parts if you are looking for a different filter piece.

Thank you for using Fixya!

All three (3) pile lights blink, the vacuum is also hard to push.

Hi there,

I'm sorry to hear you're having difficulties with your DC28 Animal. The pattern of indicator lights you've described suggests that you may need to reset the cleaner by turning it off for at least 30 seconds. If the cleaner feels hard to push, you may have the brushbar set at a level too low for the type of carpet you're trying to clean. I'd suggest setting it at the next available height on the selector pad.

If you have any further questions about using or maintaining your Dyson cleaner, or if you're unable to reset the cleaner, it's probably best if you get in touch with us directly so we can resolve this for you as quickly as possible. You can call us free on 1866MYDYSON.

Kind regards,

My mach 5 vhoover vacuum cleaner shuts itself off alsomst as though it is overheated

No your motor is going bad. Have you ever owned an electric fan. If you can remember when the motor started going bad on it the fan would quit turning on its own.Your vacuum is doing the same thing. Please call Hoover and order a new one or go to ebay type in the make and model..

Vacuum cleaner shuts off after short use. What's the reason. Motor seems very hot.

Almost all vacuum cleaners have a thermal cut-out, which operates when the machine gets too hot. It resets automatically when it cools down. Overheating is almost always caused by a blockage. Either the filters need cleaning or changing, or there's an obstruction somewhere in the pipe-work. Make sure all the pipes are clear so there's good air flow and you should be back in business. If the problem persists there may be trouble with the motor itself, in which case you'll need professional help (or a new machine). Good luck!

Bosch Vacuum Cleaner: I changed bag. Cleaned out all suction hose and hepa filters, however, my 1450 w 12 amp upright vacuum cleaner will die after five minute run - overheating. Please advise.

Greetings from GoVacuum.com,

It sounds like you may have a bad thermal switch inside the machine. Most vacuum cleaners have a switch connected to the motor, so if the vacuum cleaner is running hot, it will shut off to prevent any damage to your motor. You did all the right things by checking the bag, making sure the hose was NOT clogged, and replacing HEPA filter.

Most of the time on canister vacuums, the reason is caused by a clog in the hose, or somewhere in the powerhead. If you're sure that there is no clog anywhere, it is going to be the thermal switch on the motor.

Here's a link to the parts schematic for the Bosch upright vacuum. I hope it helps you in determining how to access the thermal switch. A word of warning to you before you try it, this is a very tough vacuum cleaner to work on, you may want to bring it in to a vacuum repair shop, as this is not an easy repair.
