I have aspire 5630-6288 and i lose my password how do i get it back ?

If the above does not work, and you have important files that you don't want to lose, you could try this... Pull the hard drive out, and use a "USB Hard Drive Adapter" (available fairly cheap online) to connect the hard drive to a friend's computer, and save all the personal files (documents, pictures, etc.) you can to a folder on the friend's computer or an external hard drive.
Then, you could try to do a Factory Restore on the computer, and if that works, copy your personal files back to your newly restored computer.

Try booting into safe mode (F8 at startup) as administrator. Once you get in, you can remove the existing user password.

if no good:

If there is nothing you need to save from the pc, then boot it up and press alt+f10 repeatedly at startup. This will allow you to put it back to factory original settings. You will lose all information on your c drive if you do this.

If you need to save files before restoring it to factory, take it to a reputable service shop and have them back up your stuff to DVD.

Hello, I have an old Acer Aspire 3680, the problem is once i press the power button the screen is frozen displaying only the Acer logo, i cannot even go to the BIOS (pressing F2) to change my setting to boot from a CD. Please help. THX

1. Pop in the recovery disc (will lose everything on the hard drive)
2. Hit the action kep during setup and make changes there (not for newbs).
3. Find a password recovery utility on the net (may need to pay small $$).
