Question about Harman Kardon HK695 Computer Speakers

1 Answer

Speakers plugged in, not muted on computer. still wont work.

My speakers have worked in the past, it has just been recently that i have noticed that they havent been working. they have done it before but, usually it was just the wire...and my brother was able to fix it. now i did everything. i made sure the wire was in place, i checked all the controls on the actual computer. nothing. when i turn the knob to turn them on, the little blue light that usually comes on doesnt come on. i have tried everything and nothing has worked. like even rebooting the computer. soo please help me.

Speakers could be broken, one or more of the wires could be broken (inside)

The speakers wont work when i plug them into the computer so what do i do ?

Try connecting the speakers to another computer, to see if they work at all.

Try connecting a different set of speakers to your computer, to see if your computer is creating sound (not "muted" ???).

Why speaker is not working ?

first off, make sure everythings plugged in right
speakers plugged into audio out or headphone out on back of computer, power is on, and both speakers are plugged in, then check the muting, if its muted un mute...
if its not muted
try muting then unmuting, i sometimes have that problem...
if all else fails, try turning off your computer then waiting 5 mins, and turning it on, if sound works, then great, if not try a set of headphones you are positive work, plug them into each plug theyll fit in on the front and back, or sides of your computer, if not, chances are you have a broken soundcard...
or a software conflict, did you install anything lately, try uninstalling...

They wont give out sound there plugged into the front of the computer and in the outlet plug in BUT IT WONT WORK :( help

Be sure to plug into the "green" socket on the front of the computer, not the "pink" (microphone) or "blue" (headphone output from iPod) socket.

Try the speakers in the "green" socket on the back of the computer, to ensure that the speakers work, and the volume control is "high", and that you have not "muted" your speakers.

Some motherboards have a small "jumper" to enable/disable the front audio-output sockets.

Try the speakers when connected to the headphone-output from your iPod, to confirm that they work -- they could be quite quiet.

Speakers Plugged In Right But Wont Turn On??

If the power light on the speakers isn't on, then the power supply going to the speakers is either in a bad outlet (test the outlet with a voltage meter) or the plug isn't firmly seated. Best of luck in your new home and hope this solves your problem.

I cant seem to get my microphone to work I have a store bought mic that I have hooked up to a 1/4 to 1/8 reducer plugged into my 1/8 mic port and it wont seem to work

A simple mistake that I have made in the past is that the mic is turned off. Is there a switch on the mic, and if so, make sure it's on. :)

After that, check in your mixer (Usually a speaker icon in your system tray) and make sure the mic isn't muted, and the volume is up. Also, if you have a mic boost, enable it. Try screaming at the mic, sometimes it's working, but really quiet.
