Question about Xerox Phaser 8500/DN Printer

Light Stripe Problem

We are having a problem with light stripes down the middle of documents. Despite running the light stripes cleaning, remapping jets umpteen times, it still continues. The problem seems to be in the blank and yellow jets 159. Has anyone encountered this and how did you fix it?

    Thank you for the suggestion but we have done that. It is probably the print head.

    my has the same issue and makes a squeeling sound a lot too

    ...haven't tried to fix it yet.

    Same problem, makes terrible noises and I cannot get rid of the light stripe despite trying all of these things. May try opening it up next though i have no idea what i'm doing.

From the xerox site. You need to run full pages of the color. many. you need to purge the heads and get ready to blow out 200 dollars woeth of ink

Try the jet substitution mode.
Here are the instructions.

To enable the Jet Substitution mode:

  1. Press the [Up] or [Down] arrow button on the Control Panel to select [Troubleshooting] on the Display Screen, and then press the [OK] button.
  2. Press the [Up] or [Down] arrow button to select [Print Quality Problems], and then press the [OK] button.
  3. Press the [Up] or [Down] arrow button to select [Eliminate Light Stripes], and then press the [OK] button.
  4. If necessary, select [Print Light Stripes Test] to make a Light Stripes Test print that shows any weak or missing jet and its jet number.
  5. Press the [Up] or [Down] arrow button to select [Jet Substitution Mode], and then press the [OK] button.
  6. Press the [Up] or [Down] arrow button to select the color for the weak or missing jet, and then press the [OK] button to select the color.
  7. Press the [Up] or [Down] arrow button to select the number of the weak or missing jet (1 to 309), and then press the [OK] button to confirm the selection.

    NOTE: If necessary, press the [Up] or [Down] arrow button to select [Save Change and Select Another Jet] to substitute more jets.

  8. Press the [Up] or [Down] arrow button to select [Save Change and Exit] and then press the [OK] button to complete the procedure.

    If that does not work. Most likely you have a defective print head.

Canon 1p2770 ciss ink cartridge is not recognized


Turn off the Printer and Unplug it from the Power Supply.
Remove the Cartridges from the Printer!!!!!
On the Backside of the Cartridge you would see a Copper Stripe, Wipe the Copper Stripe using a Paper Towel!
Reinsert the Cartridges and Restart the Printer.

Black stripe running down left side of paper when


Open the top of the fax where your documents go in. There will be a thin **** of glass where the document is read. On the end that reads "dirty" is a smudge or some white-out that needs to be cleaned. You may have to clean it with some cloth wrapped on a flat tool. Do not scrap or scratch anything, just clean enough to get the dirt off. Then make a test copy.

Hello sir; Is the stripes allway in same place and you use document feeder to copy, then you have to clean up a piece stripe glass on the plateform, otherwise ,you have to change drum cleaning blade or drum cartridge.

This fault is most likely caused by the plasma panel itself, which would be prohibitively to replace. I suggest contacting Panasonic service and tell them about your problem. I have known Panasonic to be very good in the past, often still helping out even when the item is out of warranty.

Light lines down middle when printing black


try to clean the class of the machine, if its still there, this means the black drum is scratched since its fine with other colors, to test it very good open the document feeder(put it up) and hit start buttom(without putting anypaper on class), black paper will come out, check if the line there, if yeah, change the black drum.

Black stripe and white stripe on copies


Black stripes can be down to dirty optics, unplug the copier and remove the glass, then clean all mirrors and the glass itself. If this does not resolve the problem, it will be the drum cleaning blade that has worn and will nedd replaceing.

Broad light stripe down whole scan


Have you tried to do a cleaning of the color heads. Use a cotton swab, the same kind you use to clean your ears with rubbing alchy on it an clean the heads of the color injectors. If this dose not correct the problem then try changing out cartrages. IE if it is a grey stripe change out your black ink. If it is a pink stripe change out the color ink.
