Have you checked the filters to make sure they are clean?
If they're clogged they'll prevent the unit from cooling.

I have a Goodman CKL24-1k air conditioner. I live in a townhouse in Louisiana on the 2nd and 3rd floors. I set the temperature to about 73 degrees during the day so I can sleep bc I work the graveyard...

I lost you at my the end but the 2 ton unit should be able to cool 960 sqft. Sounds like a refrigerant problem. Air conditioners should cool the air 15 to 20 degrees. This means 80 degrees going into the machine in the return should be 60 to 65 degrees coming out in the supply. If you are in that range than it's likely never going to cool the space.

A/C WILL NOT COOL BELOW 83 DEGREES

Hi, could be lack of freon, or motor for refrigeration on roof is short cycling(switching of before cooling, but first check freon(gas) in a/c, could also be faulty thermostat, you can bridge thermostat, open thermostat and if there are two wires connect then and see if cooling get colder, if thermostat are heating & cooling, don't bridge wire, you will let me know brand & model number, of thermostat so i can tell you which two wires to connect. but first check freon(gas) in condenser on roof. good look.

My air conditioning units work. They are cooling. The thermostats say 76 degrees. The problem is the hot dry smelly attic-like air that is constantly circulating and blasting down on me from the air vents....

the techs probably checked the units operation, but did they get in the attic to see that the duct work on the return air side of the unit is tight and not sucking in the attic air.

Air conditioner not cooling

This is a tell tale sign that your condenser coil on the rear of your upper unit is dirty. You need to get up on the roof and remove the shroud from the unit. Gently spray into the condenser with a water hose until the water that is coming out is clean. This is a good procedure to do once or twice a year to help the efficiency of your unit.

Hope this helps.

I have a Concord air conditioner, central heat and

You can try getting it serviced. Vacuuming the system and charging it up with new refrigerant, as well as replacing the reciever drier, will help tweak your AC system. This is no guarantee though. It might be able to bring the temp in your house down several more degrees. Also try cleaning the condenser outside. You can spray it with water to clean off dirt which block air from passing through. This hepls a bit and you can do it yourself.

House is not cooling but it is blowing 60 degree air from my vents right now it is 83 degrees outside and 81 degrees inside

check to see if there is a 20 degree split between supply and return air. If its less than 20 than it might be low on charge.

the problem sounds like a defective capacitor its located on the condensing unit outside, also a contactor that is used can be defective also.
