Question about Westinghouse SK-26H590D Television

1 Answer

After the dreaded "Switch" I lost nearly all free HD channels. Prior to the "Switch" I got roughly 40 HD channels. Now I have 2 that work. Can anyone not named Dubya explain this?

I've tried that. It seems that the only signals available anymore are much weaker than they used to be.

I had a similar experience. The way I solved was to go back to the set-up and have the channels get re-scanned in. Even though I had gotten channel 22-1 originally the frequenciy must have slightly changed with the switch over because once the television rescanned it in it worked just fine.

Could be the HDMI bank, try the DVI hook up, you won't have HD but it would give you knowledge.

Does anyone no the pin code for the star veiw box as i have lost my channel 1570 does not work

there are no new codes, virgin has changed the encrytption to nagravision 3.
Once you loose your channels, thats it, you may still get the free to air channels, but you wont get any more.
The newer boxes with built in lan ports (ethernet) may work with card sharing, google this for more info.

Lost 3 compressors in 6 months ran for 40 months problem free

Was expansion valve changed ? A bad expansion valve would let liquid refrigerant flood back to the compressor hence the knocking.

NO DTV CHANNELS

There may be an input button on the remote, or on the TV, that allows you to switch from the standard ATSC tuner to the DTV tuner.

Let me know if you can't find it and I will dig for an owner manual. But the above should allow you to switch tuners and input sources.

I purchased a SANYO-DP46848 42"HDTV. I have a Cable box and my cable provider (Time Warner Cable) provides free HD Channels. However.... I CANNOT PICKUP ANY HD CHANNELS ON THE NEW TV. WHY???...

I just got the same exact one, when it searches automatically the first time it doesn't look for digital channels. go to Menu>manual channel search>cable. it will look for all possible signals and will take forever probably. the free digital channels will take several seconds to switch channel to channel, but they're there! They will show up on your screen as "DC 91-2" or similar. you can switch back to regular cable channels with the input button, you just cycle through all the inputs. hope that helps.

Non-HDMI Tivo connection

The solution I use is S-Video from cable box to TIVO, and from TIVO to TV. That gets you the highest quality signal that the TIVO can handle. To watch true HD signal, switch TV from S-Video input to Hi-Def input and tune to HD channel. I have an HD cable box connected to both outputs, your situation may be different.

Feel free to ask for more help.
