Question about Garden

Open Question

I have a 2005 Dixon ztr and I was mowing and my Dixon stalled out while engaging the blade. The mower died and I tried to restart the mover and nothing happens,no clicking nothing at all. All the saftey switches seem to be in proper order and the blade is disengaged, the battey cables are tight and the fuse is good. I did notice that the starter was really hot!! Could this prevent the motor from turning over. If cooled down will it start?

SOURCE: john deere model 14sb lawn mower repair

Check for bad bearing in clutch immediately, Remove belt, try and turn the clutch pulley if it is hard to turn or feels rough, replace the bearing in the clutch. If you do not replace bearing immediately you will be buying a $300.00 clutch very soon. I know from experience. You possibly have been hearing a loud unusual roar from engine area for awhile and wondered where it was coming from. As these bearing will usually squall a cry for awhile before they die.

SOURCE: mower quits when engaging mower deck of husqvarna yth 2348

Try putting a jumper wire on the wire going from the engine to the seat. Take that plug and put a wire from one side to the other. Be careful not to cut your feet off when engaging deck.

Try pulling on the cable coming down to deck. This cable might be your problem. Also check that the spring on the end of this cable is present and functional.

Was mowing fine then motor began surging and now blades will not engage or disengage

Because the mower began surging and now the blades do not work, I am thinking something electrical. The PTO and electric clutch would be where I would start. The clutch can be checked and should read 2 -4 Ohms.

My blade will not stay engaged to mow. how do I fix the problem?

When you say will not stay engaged you are saying that it comes on then cuts off ? If you turn on the PTO and it engages and the mower is not moving does the PTO stay engaged and for how long (if OK then need to check connections for PTO ) . If it is not engaging at all then we have to look at interlocks / safety switches . Give me some Details

Have a craftsman EZ3 917.272121 mower engine e stalls when blade switch is pulled

If you are sitting on the tractor seat and the engine stalls when engaging the PTO mover blades I would check the switch under the seat.

This seat has a saftey switch to assure that the operator is in a safe location before engaging the the blades. Also if the blades are engaged and the operator leaves the seat the blades will stop. If a young rider with insufficient weight the blades will not engage.

Should I buy a used 311 Dixon ZTR for my 1/2 acre yard?

Never buy one. Ever. Unless you have a mechanic from Dixon that will live with you to fix it every time you turn it on. I HATE it. If it isn't one thing, it is something else. Will not run. Tires a worthless. Seven thousand dollars of ****. Just call and complain and see if anyone cares. Nope. Cannot keep battery that works more than a summer. Nothing but trouble. Cannot get anyone west of the Mississippi to come to your house to service it. Must pull it in a trailer to get it serviced. Over all --junk. No one helps from Dixon, no one cares. Cannot wait until they go out of business. A sling blade would work better. Please get sheep or goats. Much more reliable.
