The RedOctane Guitar Hero Wireless Drum Controller for the Wii is powered by the Wiimote. To replace the batteries for the drum set, you would remove the Wii remote from the drum set, replace the batteries in the Wii remote, then reconnect the Wiimote.
Turn on the drums (bottom of pads)
Press and hold the Drum Logo until it begins flashing.
press the sync button on the wii as well as on the bottom of the drum pads. That will sync the drum set with your nintendo wii.
YOU WILL HAVE TO TAKE THE SET APART. UNSCREW THE SCREWS UNDERNEATH THE SET. THE WIRES ARE VERY THIN. PAY ATTENTION TO WHICH COLOR .USUALLY THE WIRE HAS SEPERATED FROM THE SOLDER.STRIP THE PLASTIC BACK ENOUGH TO EXPOSE THE WIRE ,1/8 INCH,THEN RESOLDER OR ELECTRICAL TAPE.
is there a sync button on the drum set? if so, hit the sync button on the drums and then hit the sync button on the Wii. This will attempt to re-sync the signal of the drum to the Wii console. This has to be done for any new device that gets added to the Wii. Every so often, the Wii will lose connection with the device and has a hard time reconnecting. Sometimes this connection just has to be reset by resyncing the devices. If that doesn't work, you may have a bum product and have to buy a new one. Walmart has a replacement plan starting around 5 bucks depending on the product where, should your product fail within a year, you can order a new one on their site free of charge and have it shipped to the store for pickup. I recommend this for any high price console peripheral. So basically, my advice is to try and re-sync the drum set to your wii via the sync switches on the 2 devices. If that doesn't work, consider replacing. I hope this helps.
CHECK INSIDE DRUMSET HOUSING UNDER WHERE THE BLUE PAD ATTATCHES. THERE SHOULD BE 2 WIRES CONNECTED WITH SOLDER. IF 1 OR BOTH HAVE COME OFF THEY WILL NEED TO BE REATTATCHED WITH SOLDER.
Ensure that the foot pedal is connected to the drums. Ensure that the drums are connected to the included Rock Band 4-Port USB hub. Ensure that the hub is connected to the USB port on the back of the Wii console.
Don't expect the drums to work as a remote until Rock Band is completely loaded. Use the Wiimote to take you to that point.
