How to remove base from gateway hx2000 monitor

hello, for some monitors, when change resolutions take seconds to change, automatic, others have to save them. or your signal if analog, HDMI, or digital try to compesate the screen signals,
when use automatic adjustment, the monitor set for the scale designated in your video adapter.(video card)

Replace the motherboard. It will be cheaper to replace the monitor. If an item of electronic equipment gets hit by over 100,000 volts it is dead, not just having a rest.

The menu board is troubleshooting.

I'm guessing the different monitors are different sizes? The only thing a driver for a monitor will do will tell the computer the max resolution that the monitor will be able to go up to. However most 90% of monitors can use the built in windows driver without issues. Your best bet is going to be to change the resolution on the monitor. To do this you can either hook up the old monitor, lower the resolution, and then plug in the other monitor. Or you can boot the computer into VGA low resolution mode by pressing F8 as the computer starts up and selecting that option. From there you can lower the resolution, and then put it at something more desirable with the new monitor.
The other possibility being your Gateway monitor is actually malfunctioning and you just happened to hook up a bad monitor.

remove base using a small screwdriver around 4 inches in on the top push down and toward the front ,(the front bezel comes off it really on there wedge a piece of metal like a blank for a computer card in between the front and back the front will pop off its tough down by the buttons i took the gateway emblem and popped it off and the chrome strip and forced the bottom off with a lot of persuasion it came apart screen lifts right out have fun this ones a bear

YES - BUT - Most likely it is due to a bad cable from monitor to computer. or could also be bogus video card. Manufacturers Defects do happen though. I would chekc the cable first. If you got the receipt - Bring it back and get cha a new one!

ok i will need to know what windows opporating system your running. also make sure volume control on your unit is turned up. if it is you will need to reinstall the sound driver.

In the back of the swivel there is a small release lever... push down (?) then with other hand hit the swivel base towards back, then lift unit up.

Since you have surely looked, it isn't held on with exposed screws.
Check to make sure that the rounded area that allows tilting is not part of the case but appears to be separable.
Most that are removable are held by a tongue and a fairly obvious release tab.

if you can't remove the base, just place the monitor in the carton on good padding and upside down.
Fill and cushion the sides well, mark the carton with 'This side up' and an arrow and hope there are no malicious handlers on the trip.

I've shipped numerous monitors of different sizes and types and have lost none of them to shipping damage.
