Turn the Laptop back on, insert the USB, When it starting, Click on F1 or F2, entre the BIOS, check and make sure the Boot List, that the Hard Drive is number 1, might be a problem with that, make sure the HHD (Hard Drive) is selected as Number 1 and DVD/CD is selected as number 2. Save the settings, Let the Machine Turn on, then shut it down, remove the USB and then power back up the Machine.
If that doesn't fix the issue, the it could be an issue with the motherboard, the power coming into the Laptop could be a greater output, so the USB is taken power from the motherboard and the computer then turns on.

Forgot admin password cannot how to reset admin password gateway lt2104u

Look on Ebay for a password reset disk. Many vendors on Ebay sell a bootable "linux" disk that you boot from and then you can edit your password file on Windows. I have versions for XP/ Vista.Windows 7.

Be sure to get one that works for your version of windows. You must set the BIOS to boot from the CD drive first for this to work. About $5 to $10 for the reset disk.

Hooked up gateway but will not respond to windstream speedstream 4200

The most common reason a computer won't start can be a piece of hardware has failed or is causing a problem but that hardware isn't usually a hard drive, the part of your computer that stores all of your files. To fix such kinds of issue, you can take the following steps.1.create a bootable usb or cd ,there are kinds of software for you to complete this step, you can choose Fix Boot,EasyBootDisk or Windows Boot Genius. I suggest you to use Windows Boot Genius, it is easier and more effective.2.boot your computer from the created disk3.fix the issue after run the softwareBy the way, before any further steps you should make sure the power supply is good. Any hardware issues such as pc power and cable, motherboard corrupted should be troubleshooted.I don't suggest you to try the solution above until you are sure there is nothing to do with the hardware.

Windows won't start up? Well, try this Download Tenorshare Data Recovery from its offical site and install it. Burn it into CD/DVD, or USB flash, put into the computer you need to repair, Bios setting. It can make sure your important data will not lose. Best of luck

My gateway nx560x needs the bios updated and another driver re installed but windows will not load up what can i do?

hello, your model of laptop (NX560X) is able to boot of the usb port, what that means is even if you don't have the laptop working, and don't have a floppy drive, you can use USB flash drive, usb floppy etc to boot up the laptop from.
you should use other PC (perhaps the one you are using to post here :-)) to download bios from gateway website and then use usb device to boot your laptop. Below is the direct link for your laptop and here you will find latest firmware and drivers;
http://support.gateway.com/support/drivers/search.asp?st=pn&param=1008644
After you are able to flash the BIOS, test to see if the you can get into windows.
post back your results so we can further troubleshoot the issue.

hope this helps

Fails to boot

You might try a Hirens Boot CD, un-zip the files, create a bootable cd from the .ISO file and boot your troubled system, select virus scan on boot.

Gateway gt4023

eistot. Let me guess. You operating system is Vista. This is a common problem for Vista users. Open control panel, open system, click the hardware tab, click the device manager button.
Scroll down to your devices that have a yellow ! point. Right click once on a device & left click update. Windows hardware update wizard will open, click not at this time & click next. Click install from a list or specific loacation. Click the brows button & than next. Point windows to C:\windows\system32 & choose to look in sub folders too. Windows should find your USB devices again.
If windows fails this endeavor please just post back here with your results so I can suggest another rout.

Good Luck & kind Regards eistot
