Picture but no sound on Hyvision LCD monitor MV190

I have a Hyvision LCD monitor MV190. There is no volume coming from the speakers. I hooked up the monitor to use as a TV. I'm getting picture, just no sound. It is not on mute and the volume is turned up. I have the cable and power wires connected correctly. I also have it hooked up to my DVD player and it plays picture, but no sound as well. Am I missing a wire or something that needs to be plugged in the back?

Re: Picture but no sound on Hyvision LCD monitor MV190

I had the same problem. The speakers are mounted below the the LCD Monitor. There is no internal connection between the speakers and the TV Audio. There should have been a short patch cord in your box having one jack on one end and two wires with mono jacks on the other. Plug the stereo jack into the audio out on the monitor and then plug the other jacks into the left and right side of the speakers (the wires should be marked L and R). If you cannot find the jack, I'm sure that you can find one on line or get one from Radio Shack.

LCD speakers are really not that good, specially for smaller than 42". but it should not be that faint if your hardly hearing a sound, try to get a replacement unit.

No sound coming from my monitor, what's the problem?

The problem may stem from not having the monitor's speaker system if it has one, hooked up to the output of the sound card on the computer.

Also, if it has an adjustment for volume, make sure it's not turned down to zero volume, and also make sure it isn't set on mute, if it has such a setting.

Most monitors do not have sound on them and many computers require external computer speakers in lieu of sound coming out of a monitor.

My HyVision LCD TV Picture disappears after a few seconds

It seems that the "backlight" has gone bad. "Backlight" is the device that allows to see the picture in an LCD TV, when they are about to go bad the symptom that you describe is very usual. It depends on the tv manufacturers and model to expect how long the "backlight" is going to last in a tv.You can shop around for a replacement part and try to do it yourself or take it to an especialized technician. Good luck..

The volume is too low on my computer speakers

Hi, Mark Here, see I can help.

The 1907 does not amplify your sound it will let you control the volume to some degree but not boost the incoming sound.

If you had amplified speakers b4 your sound card requires amplified speakers.

Best two options i can give is.
  1. If it is a desktop you can install a amplified sound card. Hook to monitor speaker.
  2. Unplug monitor speaker &use amplified speakers.
Just so you know laptops use internal amplified speakers. If you decide to install sound card make sure it is an amplified card.

Hope that fixed ya! know not the best news. Need more help comment back. Please Rate.
Good Luck!

No sound on lcd monitor

Very simple just plugged your audio cable to your lcd monitor jack , then do the same to your pc audio jack. From the front (with picture of a headphone) or from the back (green audio jack) To settings the volume control open the on screen display from the lcd monitor and look for volume settings. or go to your toolbar bottom r/h side look for the icon of a speaker and click on it...and that it... have nice a day!

Picture won't stay on.

The problem is with the backlight inverter driver. It thinks that one of the CFL lamps is bad. I fixed mine by opening it up and cutting a track in the inverter board (with the power off!!). But you need to be a bit of a geek to undertake this fix. I you want more details email me at
