if you are referring to the detected processor in the task manager, open task manager and click the VIEW menu, then select One Graph Per Processor. Another thing to do is to go to START, then click RUN, type MSCONFIG and click OK. Once you have the MS CONFIG window up, click the BOOT tab, click ADVANCED OPIONS. From there, select/check the Number Of Processors box, then select 2. Click OK, then APPLY/OK. Restart the computer and confirm if that resolved the issue. Hope this works. Feel free to rate how useful the info is.
Select the model motherboard you have and click on the CPU support link, it will show you a list of CPU's that are supported. You have a socket 939 board and AMD CPU's are now AM2, AM2+ and AM3 socket, which are 940 pin. It may be difficult to find a new CPU for your motherboard that is new since they have not been made in awhile.
The following link will tell you the very simple way to overclock this processor. Half way down the page you will find the header "OVERCLOCKING"
http://www.value-reviews.com/index.php?page=pentium-dual-core-e2140 "Since the architecture was designed for the 1066 MHz FSB, overclocking
is as trivial as setting the FSB to 1066 MHz (266 MHz quad pumped). ...you instantly get a 2132 MHz CPU with little increase in temperature."
Open cpu cabinet. Refix RAM memory. Clean dust from all parts. Reattch ATX power connector from smps to motherbord. Pull cmos cell from motherbord for 10 minutes so all settings are defaults. REmove pci cards from pci slot of motherbord then check. Open processor fan and processor then refix both. Make sure motherbord not ground with cabinet cover. Then check if still problems then change ram .check RAM and motherbord separately .
ok
open cpu covers and check on motherbord u find cmos cell on it
It is round cell on motherbord
pull away it from motherbord for 15 minutes then refix it again then it reset to factory defaults.
You need to get someone to make a boot disk for you. It can usually be done from a friends pc. If not a computer store can make one cheaply for you. Go into the bios on startup and select the disk drive or floppy drive to boot up first. If you can get into the bios anyway, I would reset to default values(usually F5), save it then reboot. Hope this helps
Based on your post/description, you would want to do 2 things: 1) upgrade a Cyrix and 2) install LAN capability.
#2 is easier, all you need is a PCI LAN card with the right drivers for your operating system and you should be set to go;
#1 is trickier... If you are referring to a Cyrix MediaGXm motherboard, at most that you can go up to is a 300 MHz CPU and hopefully a max of 256Mb of memory depending on the motherboard version.
If you are referring to a Cyrix MII-433 processor which ran at 300 MHz (100x3), hopefully you can try replacing the processor with an AMD K6-2 500 or higher, that is of course assuming that the motherboard is compatible (FSB, VCore voltage, multiplier). You should take into consideration that other than the MII-433. most Cyrix CPUs run at 83 MHz bus in a (Super) Socket 7 motherboard and technically is extremely overclocked (PCI bus running at 41.5 MHz). You should meticulously check the various jumper settings to accommodate your upgrade CPU. For stability, perhaps you should choose an Intel 266 with MMX, for speed AMD K6-2 500. This is of course if you can still locate such processors and appropriate memories.
also the cpu is working only the monitor is not responding, i tried to check the video card to other unit and its working and also the monitor. pls help
