Why is my laptop backspacing/deleting content and webpages?

I have an Acer Aspire 5810T with Vista installed. For the last 3 weeks I have experienced several problems which I have been unable to fix. These are: - backspacing content in google docs and word/office programs. Cursor just suddenly begins backspacing at random intervals. The mouse used to freeze before this happened although the mouse no longer seems to freeze. - Webpages click back to previous pages or to brower home page. Happens in both chrome and firefox - Opening windows such as control panel results in rapid flicking between desktop and CP. - Laptop no longer automatically boots to windows - I have to hit enter. This problem developed a week or so ago. - Intermittent 'pinging' which can last several minutes I have run a virus checker (Mcafee is always running); run a malware program, updated drivers, used system restore to a point before this started. Nothing has worked. I think this maybe an issue with the touchpad which I uninstalled or so I thought yesterday and was using an external mouse. Issues still continued and the touchpad is still working despite it no longer appearing in the device list. Any advice would be much appreciated!

A disc error has occured aspire 5810T

First - re-seat the hard disk and reboot the computer. If the computer does not boot up then reboot and go into the BIOS configuration to see if the BIOS detects the hard drive. If it doesn't detect the hard drive then it could be faulty.

Then the hard drive needs to be replaced in the computer/laptop, Windows installed and the computer or laptop's device drivers plus your programs etc. to get a functioning computer/laptop again.

hi, is your computer a windows vista or Xp. if it is a vista then the most common problem is that windows vista comes with uploaded rubbish like game demos and other unwanted stuff so the solution is to delete all those stuff. if it is xp then the best thing you can do is to go to disk cleanup or check you system memory thanks

My internet explorer windows vista doesn't work.

Interesting problem. Have you tried installing another internet browser such as Mozilla Firefox? I love Firefox it saves my tabs/open webpages if I select that option when I shut down the PC even if your PC crashes 90% of the time it will have your tabs/pages saved. The only problems I have experienced with Firefox (minor issue) is some websites hosting videos that are "save as" won't download but this happens rarely. Firefox is also
less vulnerable to phishing and hacking according to the Mozilla website http://www.mozilla.org/

I have had nothing but problems with Windows Vista since I got my Acer Aspire 5610. It crashes daily or 1-2 times a week. I have heard Windows Vista Premium is a better version, but haven't tried it. I know you can purchase installer discs from Acer on their webpage but don't know if you can get them in Windows XP. I have considered dumping the Vista and paying to get XP installed instead.

Acer aspire 3680 could not load dvd driver

Let me guess...you tried to install Roxio or another burner, and then it did not work, so you uninstalled it, but now your dvd drive has disappeared. You have tried to update the drivers, but you get a message showing that you have the latest driver, but alas, no dvd drive.

Use the restore point created just prior to installing the burner software and you will be fine. I have fixed 5 Acer 3680 laptops in the last two weeks with this problem. If you want to use Roxio or another burner software, go to the Acer webpage and link from them. Peace and good luck.
