my computer won't detect my 10.2 gb Western Digital hard drive. it's the original hard drive that came with the computer. I just got a 250gb Seagate Digital hard drive but thats the main problem. everything was working fine until i swapped drives. now i go to use my original and it won't detect it whatsoever.
    please help!

My computer had been down for over 2 years, added additional hard drive and replaced the power source. It will start up and load windows xp to the point where you choose the user name to log in. Once I try logging in, it gives message that I need to register windows to continue. I tried to register windows online and it does not find the connection (connected to hard line). I called the 800 number to register by phone and the support guy said it could not be activated. I explained that I had already purchased the windows 8 operating system but needed to be able to connect in order to download it. He told me that since my PC was over two years old it would not support windows 8 operating system. I am just trying to get the computer up and running for my 7 year old daughter to use the way they use the ones at her school. The computer was purchased in 2004, but I added a 2nd hard drive and upgraded the power source to a 480 watt. Any suggestions on how to get this running.

What is the original OS? If it's XP you can't install 98 over the top of it without formatting it to FAT32 first.

Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Good luck!

My daughter as moved to austrailia and she put a lebara sim card in her phone that used to be contracted it works nut is not giving her the correct credits it should do does she need to change the jav

Phones are made regionally. Phones in the US will not work with simcards outside of Canada and Mexico because of the laws of certain countries concerning frequencies that the cell phones and tower transmit. She would either need to purchase a phone in her current region or purchase a sim card from the original region of the phone. BUT that is not going to be a promise because again as stated above may not work.

About 3 yrs ago,the wireless feature quit working on my gateway t-6815 notebook pc with windows vista. i turn the wireless swith on and press the function button with f2 to turn it on and nothing happens....

they do fail,
the card (wi-fi) is small inside the pc watch out for the co-ax connections because they are micro and can only stand being unplugged a few times before they break.
good luck

I have a samsung HLR6156WX. Bought it new 5 yrs ago gets very very little use (guest area). Turned it off and now it wont come back on. Ive read different post about slappint the left side after leaving it...

amount of use does not counter the fact the tv was 5 years old. a blub not used for 5 years can still burn out just like any other bulb. the only thing you can do is get it replaced.

I have put a new alternater, belt, and battery in my daughter's 1998 Hyundai Elantra and it still want hold a charge. As soon as we give it a jump then we try to move the car it cuts off. I don't know...

I would have the whole charging system tested with a Volt Meter before you change anything else. You can test the Alternator with a Volt Meter while the engine is running. The Alternator should be putting out between 13-14 volts, anything less and you have a bad Alternator. Check all Battery, Starter, Ground connections for loose or corroded wires and tighten or clean as needed.

My gateway laptop will not display anything except the name GATEWAY. I was instructed to purchase an operating system cd, now that I have the cd to load it on the laptop I discovered it does not give me...

it shows the hard disk of your laptop is un-detectable. check the hard disk connector/power, if u can or consult a technician for the same. if it does. then put the system disk in to cd drive and boot from it.

I'm not sure why they do the things they do, but they don't seem to put all the drivers on their restore disc. Here's what you should do. Since your old hard drive is still good, purchase a usb to ide/sata cable, ide or sata depending on which your hard drive is. This will allow you to hook up your old hard drive to your computer as a slave drive. This is going to help you in two ways 1- the drivers for your machine are still on that drive and you can have the hardware wizard find them there, and 2- you can use the old drive for storage, backup, or whatever.
