SOURCE: Projector Lamps for the Toshiba TDP-MT8 DLP

Have you contacted Toshiba? They will sell you a new fan. It is possible the power supply has a problem. Bulbs usually have a 90 day warranty. Contact where you bought the bulb. Prices are dropping rapidly for new projectors. Yoiu can buy a new oen for under 500.00.

SOURCE: Toshiba TDP S8 projector shuts down suddenly

The reason why the projector is shutting off is so the lamp doesn't explode. It's more of a safety feature on the projector, you can reset the lamp and it might work for another 500hours. If the picture is still pretty bright I can get you the reset procedure, but be warn that when the lamp does eventually blow it could shatter the glass inside, so be careful, it shouldn't hurt the unit.

SOURCE: standby light for toshiba

probably power supply or ballast (starts the lamp)

either would be $600.00 or so to repair, probably costs more than the projector is worth.

SOURCE: Toshiba TDP-T90 projector, lamp

I have the same problem. The lamp cover has a tab that sticks up about 1/2 inch. When you close the lamp cover the tab presses on a wire that allows power to the lamp. You can hear a 'click' as you close the cover slowly. My tab kept bending over preventing it from depressing the wire. I've straightened it several times to where now it broke off to where it wouldn't work at all.

I fixed the problem by clipping off the tab, inserting it in the bulb case to press the wire and taped the tab in place.

Make sure filters are cleaned. Use a vacuum so you don't spread dust around inside your projector. Make sure the projector can "breathe"; has room around it.

My projector is showing multiple white dots, looks like lots of small stars all over the screen when projected to screens. is this mean I need to replace the lamp? TDP-XP1 model.

The link to the article explains the the cause of the white syndrome none of the previous internet experts have a correct solution. I have the same problem the link to the article attached is for a Mitsubishi projector but all the chips are the same. http://www.fixyourdlp.com/2012/04/26/solve-the-mitsubishi-white-dot-problem-for-under-200/

Replaced bulb in projector and it still doesn't

Smetimes the other fan comes on when set to full bright. As your lamp is not lighting up, the other fan will not come on. If yo have replaced the lamp and it is still not working, then 9 times out of 10 it is will be the ballast.

Toshiba TDP SC25 projector

The manual says it might be because the power went out when it was on. Just a note here, as projectors age they become more sensitive to power outages. When not in use turn off completely if you can. They have an on/off button.

Otherwise not sure but think you may need to replace the fan. Try cleaning it first but gently.

FAN ERROR BUT THE FANS WORK

There are air flow sensors in the unit as well which you may have blocked up when you blew out the fans. If those sensors do not detect air flow, the assumption is that there is a fan error. Try removing the fan and cleaning the entire air flow path.
