Hello Friend, Your problem is very simple to fix. You need to replace the Rear drum support rollers. To replace the Rear drum support rollers just remove front of dryer body exposing the drum, look under the drum and you will see the belt and tention wheel in front of the motor. Now, release the tention on the belt and remove belt from motor shaft. At this point you can remove the drum up and out of the dryer cabinet. Look towards the rear of the dryer cabinet and you will see the rear drum rollers. The roller on the left has a support strap held on by a press on clip. just pry this clip off and remove support bar. Now there will be a plactic triangular clip holding the roller in place. Just remove the plastic clip and replace roller. The roller on the right just has the triangle plastic clip just remove and replace that roller as well. Be sure to lubricate the roller shafts with some 3 in one oil prior to re-installing the new rollers. Make sure you re-install all of the retaining clips. After re-assymbly of your dryer if should run like new. Happy to help, Tim. And please don't forget to give me your rating for my help. Thanks.

As it spins very slowly back and forth it also makes the grinding squeeking noise.

Hi Robert.
What you describe sound like a distorted drum and/or collapsed bearings. The grinding noise is typical of bearings which are worn out, and the squeaking can come from the drum rubbing on the door seal.
Check if the inner drum is loose and flops up and down. Also spin the drum by hand and see if it's touching the rubber door seal anywhere. If it spins freely but make a growling noise your bearings need to be replaced..
Neither of these situations are good. A serviceman is probably required to know for sure.
Good luck.

Check that drum (2nd below) is not rubbing on this door seal

Dryer making funny noise

If your dryer is old, your probably right. Your drum rolls on 3 rollers and they tend to get "out of round" after years of use. If you want to change them, you will have to remove the drum from the front of the dryer (after removing the door) and they will be attached to the rear wall. Good luck. Your fix it cost is around....$50.

Loud noise when it spins

Sounds like main drum bearing noise, try turning the drum by hand, if it feels rough or you can hear it grinding or rumbling, then it is the the main bearings that have failed..
You will probably need to call an engineer.

Very loud noise as drum is spinning

Hi, I think that the bearings may be wearing down and need to be replaced. Or the belt may be faulty and needs replacing.

To tell if the bearings are wearing down or need replacing, turn the drum by hand when it is empty and it will make like a grinding noise.

If the belt is torn, frayed or coming off the motor you will need to physically look.

Dryer Making a Grinding Noise

The grinding noise is probably a worn out roller or the central bearing in the back. The center of the drum in the back has a part called a bearing which screws onto the back of the drum and has a stub which sticks out. The stub then goes into a bearing hole in the back panel of the dryer. If you are handy, you could try to replace yourself. I did it once. While you are at it, check the drum belt which goes around the drum and makes it spin. Replace it if looks like it has wear.
