Try clicking the door switch . If no click then the switch may be bad. If the switch clicks, check the belt. Door switch is about 10 bucks and the belt runs for about 15. Timer, 40 and up.

I have a maytag washer/drywe combo gas dryer. model mhs2000aww do I need to change the orfice to use propane

I am going to say yes as the orifice for propane has a much smaller hole than natural gas. Should check with a repairman to get the right one.

Top of GE drier hot

When the dryer gets toward end of cycle, the timer will cycle off the heating element. (last 5 - 7 minutes.) This function takes place thru a resistor located near the timer switch, and parallel with the heating element. If this resistor fails, the heating element stays on during the cool down period. The resistor can be checked with a meter. If it doesn't ohm out at 4500 ohms, replace the resistor... Make sure power is off at the appliance when you check for resistance.

Roper dryer res7648kq0, replaced heat element, thermal fuse, cycling thrm, thermal kit, checked outlet, circuit breaker, still not heat, will not advance on AUTO, but will on timed cycle. Now what?

Wow.
In electric dryers with an AUTO cycle; the heater runs on 220 volts, but the timer motor runs on 110 volts. There is a resistor in the system to cut down the voltage. If the resistor is bad, you will see the same symptoms as if a thermostat was bad. The timer motor will not run in the automatic cycle. You need to make sure that you test for continuity in the resistor.
I've looked at two parts diagrams for your washer and cannot find a sensor anywhere in either, so the thermostat is what tells the timer to advance once the dryer reaches a preset temperature.
The thermostat will only tell the timer to advance if the dryer reaches the proper temperature, if you have some clogging in the vents, the dryer may never reach the proper temperature, and thus not advance on the auto cycle. but i'm sure you've probably checked that. I'm baffled. Let me know how it pans out if you can. Thanks. I'm still trying to find a wiring diagram for that model.

thanks,

Mike

Dryer runs will not heat ,timer will not move

either the timer motor isn't getting power to turn the timer motor or the timer motor itself is defective

that is the belt pulley,it goes into the groves right in front of the dryer motor, the belt goes under it and onto the motor-mike

Lightning hit our house a month ago and the dryer was running. It stopped and now the start button won't stay engaged l We have to push the button to make it run and tape it in the run position,

your missing the voltage from the control panel timer to energize the relay to keep it energized after you push it to make it start, you need to trace this back to the control panel timer possibly thru a resistor that could have burned open due to power outage and probably replace

Kenmore dryer

Jeff, almost sounds like a timer issue, but I was fooled on this once. Under the consol is a inline resistor from the main plug. If this resistor is bad, dryer keeps running in timed dry. Part number for the resistor is 3401076. Look it up on the web so you know what it looks like. Just splices in.. Catriver..post back.
