I noticed that when ever I used my Silvia there was water underneath the base of the machine. At first I attributed this water to my being sloppy, but on further inspection I have found I was wrong. There is a valve under the machine that leaks whenever I actually express the coffee, and the continues to drip for a short time after I am done. I assume this is a pressure release valve. There is a whole in the base to allow access to this valve. Is this a fixable item? I am fairly handy and would like to fix this myself.
I may have left Silvia on to long in the past, but this is occurring consistently when only on long enough to brew a couple of expresso's.
Thank you for your time.

- Yes this solution did answer my question. I think water got under the machineinstelf moving it around or the drip pan not being pushed all the way in.
If we're thinking about the same thing, then yes you're correct in saying this is a pressure release valve. It is perfectly normal for it to drip every time you make a shot. It should, however, drain into the stainless steel tray along with any drips from the steam wand or the filter group. The base that the tray sits in does have a hole in it under the release valve, which I think is for people who may have the machine set up on a drainer so the tray doesn't need emptying. You can also get water under the machine if you direct the steam wand towards the tray as it will force any liquid collected in the tray to shoot over the sides and out the underneath.

Can you supply a thermostat for a Rancilio Silvia? the one required is T3 in the wiring diagram, and is between the on/off switch and the heating element. In the diagram it is described as "thermostat 165º". The actual stat is marked "Ty 80-R Campini, 16/250~ T210. If available, please quote full price and postage, and terms. Thanks, Colin
